Forum Knife Updates and comments

This forum knife is really looking like it's gonna be THE ONE for me.
Buck may be taking their time and I expect the quality will be right up there with a case bose with the pulls of a gec calf roper...I'm really pleased with my imagination about this!

As long as the pulls are not above "6".
I don't want to fight to open it when my hands are cold.
(Which happens fairly regularly during an Idaho winter when you don't have a car and ride your bicycle. Bicycle beats walking ...)

Rest easy afishhunter - I've owned lots of Buck pocketknives - NEVER had to fight one open! OH

Then you have never owned some of the GEC's I have. I would say any pull between 6 and 8 would be great on the Buck.

OH specified that he’s never had to fight open any Buck pocketknife. GEC’s have nothing to do with it.
I made my comment about the pull in response to quaboag's reference to the GEC Calf Roper.
I have no idea what the pull on that knife is.
I've never owned or even seen a GEC in the flesh, but I've read here on the forums that they (can?) (usually?) have a hard pull.

I'm hoping the pull will be about a "5" on both blades, like a regular 301.

Anyone know of there going to email tracking when shipped and or notify threw PayPal ?

At some stage, it would be really nice if somebody could put up one of those maps showing approx where the FK 18s went. Even though most go to the USA/Canada be interesting to have a world map showing destinations:cool:

Well, that was an estimate, which I would not fault them if they had to take a bit longer, the old saying goes, the price/delivery soon wear off when poor quality was the result of speed and cost....
Better to take the time, make sure all is right. Reminds me of this thread I made a while back

but yes, we're all getting anxious for sure! :)

One more day and they start shipping.. Much looking forward to it and they're will be a smile on my happy face! :D

Maybe. But for any to ship tomorrow, they need to be picked up at Buck tomorrow morning. Or last Friday. Might be that we'd have heard about that. So I'm expecting that December 3 was too optimistic. I'm with Gary, thinking that getting it right takes priority.

Of coarse getting it right takes priority. I have no argument with that.. Like my old Grandma was fond of saying: 'Do the job right, you know haste makes waste young man'.
