Man, I got bits and pieces of this story only moments ago, and apparently it all came to light in the chatroom that I created for my fellow Usual Suspects!

DonR, thanks for bringing this situation to our atttention.

Well, this just goes to prove what I've know all along, Knifenuts in general and Knife Makers in particular are some of the nicest and most generous people you'll find. Tim Herman, you've got to be one of the most missunderstood and complex guys I know. My compliments to you Darrel, Rob, Jerry and Tom. My apology for not having the funds to make a respectable offer on any of your knives. All I can do is to send out a check.

I know it's not possible to keep track of the money that's going direct to the family, but is anyone keeping track how much has been raised by auctions or promised donations? I'm not looking for an accounting, but it might be helpful for folks here to know where we are and how far we need to go?

Can someone bring us up to date?
 
If I could I would, money has been very tight last few months. If I can do anything over here in the UK... I don't know what but anything I can do I will.
 
We often talk about "the power of the forums" and how so many of us think others are kind and generous.

I'm an old-fashioned guy who believes in "proof through example." Even if you can't afford to offer a knife or a bid on a knife, I'm sure your assistance in any measure would be appreciated!

How about having that burger without fries today? How about one or two fewer cups of coffee? If everyone here just gave a dollar..... well, you do the math! ;)

And if you can't afford to give money, maybe you could take some of your "posting time" (or "lurking time") and send your prayers and regards!

Not that you have to...... hopefully that you want to! :)
