• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

FrankenSharp Knife Sharpener, Combining KME, SharpMaker, Edge Pro Clone Parts

I reset zero on the table, or on the blade, and go from that.

I have a steel plate glued to the guide rod holder, so whatever the guide rod holder is doing, is what the rod is doing.

My cube, if it detects movement, stays on.

Those are pretty sweet setups. I just got an edge pro clone for my birthday and I'm pretty happy with it. I've gotten a few knives hair-popping sharp but I do wish it had a clamp or something to secure the blade. I wonder how well it would work to just add small magnets to the base to keep the knife more steady? Obviously not as secure as a clamp but it would be fairly easy and removable.

A set of powerful magnets really help. IMHO, you cannot get too strong a magnet

I was just thinking of using a couple of those thin sticker magnets and placing them on the table spot where you place the knife. It might mess with the angles but since it only uses color coding anyways you wouldn't be thrown off that much anyway.

I think the mag mod reduces fatigue of operator and improves the finished sharpening project. It also speeds up the work.

This should not be a mod, this should be a manufacturer stock item.

Had I discovered the mag mod for EP, earlier, I could have never started my KME projects. I would have been happy with that.
