Free Knifes For ALL

I wonder if the OP is a scam in itself. I went into the Alibaba user agreement, IPR policy, enforcement of IPR violations, etc. While some time frames were listed, I saw nothing about a 3 day timeframe for the seller to provide proof. I actually saw more about the buyer needing to prove his statements that the item is not genuine than in reverse.

I'd caution people to not follow the OP's advice simply because you already know you're dealing with shady companies and there's nothing that clearly and explicitly demands a full refund with no product return rights based on an allegation from a possibly anonymous buyer. Which the user agreement allows for.

Sounds hinky, and that's leaving the morality argument out of it.

Two wrongs don't make a right. This behavior is no better than the knockoff artist's. It's not "stolen",you liberated nothing, but you did steal three knives. They are knockoffs from a country with lax/no laws against such activity. The correct thing would do would be not buy them. You went out of your way to exploit a system and lied to commit fraud. I don't understand what part of any of this makes you think you did a "good thing". It's abhorrent and sad in general.

Three lefts make a right!

Ah crap!!

I sooo wish I could UNread this whole thread.
Now I gotta take another shower.
If anyone thinks what the OP did and proposed will really work, I got a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell ya, dirt cheap! Well, it's not the actual bridge, but a completely identical clone that's just as good.

:barf:

I see the OP's point. If everyone did that to the fakers - they would not be in business anymore. That being said - I still won't be participating...

Free fake knife , wow some people have too much time to waste. You could put the same effort into making some money and be ahead, IMO. Plus, I don't believe it either, everything on that site is fake.

I refuse to read this!!!!

Why didn't I listen to myself..............................ugh!!!

I love the challenge of deciphering giant walls of text with no spaces or punctuation!

"Knifes" in the Title prepared me for the rest of the post...

Now I'm just a country lawyer who didn't go to fancy Ivy League Law School, but where I come from those two are the same thing.
And what you did is cut out part of my quote. The part where I said they are equally bad. Point is the site policy favors the OP.

For the rest of the posters. At least he (the OP) is fighting the fight, and from what I read later the OP forced a change in the scammers tactics making it harder to search them out. So IMO the OP has done more to fight counterfits than any single individual posting here...........so get off your A's and fight the fight or quiet yourselves and move along.

I disagree. By not buying from these counterfeit companies and their retailers we are voting with our dollars. I also see a lot of these same posters in threads where counterfeits come up expressing their opinions on the matter and also offering great alternatives from honest manufacturers in the same price range. Two ways to fight the fight.

One person nailing them for $30 because a loophole in the Terms of Service is not going to make a big dent in their business. They already changed there marketing to negate it. (From other posters research)

IMO, voting with your dollars and trying to educate others is a better way to combat these companies. Though sadly, in the end it all may be futile.

Also, changing the names of the wares isn't going to make it that much harder to find them as that is pretty well know site for inexpensive crap, even for products outside of knives.

I like what he did.
Since these guys made fake knives they deserve what they got.
Talking on bladeforum and acting high and mighty won't help. Doing what this guy did might change how alibaba and ebay deal with these fake knives.
I approve

I think this might be an interesting study for an ethics class...

On the subject of making a difference, however, I imagine it'd take A LOT of participation, and I don't see that happening. Even if it would, there'd be some kind of work around found fairly quickly (it sounds like there already has).

Now, if OP had ordered a few thousand knives, and THEN found his loophole....

Maybe I am alone in this line of thought but...

The OP enlightens us on a way to get a free knife while at the same time sticking it to counterfeit companies.

The title of the thread is "Free Knives For ALL".

With the title of the thread and the content of the OP me it feels like a veiled attempt to let others know how to scam a company rather than actually trying to make a difference in stopping counterfeits.

Maybe not, I have been wrong before.

So to get back at a scammer, you scam them?

Why would you want the knife knowing it hurts the original makers?

Perfect Comment....................
