Sorry they are all gone...

Here's the deal. I bought 400lbs of Micarta on a close out deal. This stuff was going to be used in a non-knife application that didn't work out. I bought all they had. It is a linen micarta in carmel brown (or butterscotch?) color.
It is .51" thick by 10.5" x 4.62". Typically micarta is cut into 5" lengths, this is cut into 4 5/8" (4.62") length. That's not a really a deal breaker I don't think. It should be plenty long. It's certainly thick enough.

I've cut some up into scales 1.5" x .51" x 4.62". 30 pairs of it.

I'll give a set away (limit 1 set per person please) to the first 30 guys that sorry these are gone now...

There is a hitch - not a big one really. You have to agree to use these scales on your next knife (or one after that) and post a picture of it here. I'd like to see this stuff on some knives. If you won't get around to using in for several months, let some one else have it - you won't be out anything. I really don't care what level of maker you are. Just use it some time in the near future and post a pic. You don't have to buy anything, you don't even have to look around. The link will take you right to that item and you can just check out after that. You *do* have to use the "check out" using my web site. No emails, PM's please. I need to use the cart software to keep it organized and do the shipping. There won't be any shipping charges, other charges or spam later. Sorry international guys, domestic USA only. Of course, if you want to place an order at the same time, just throw it in your cart.

Why am I doing this? Why not. I've always enjoyed this place and it's OK to give something back now and then. I'll probably sell a few pieces of this stuff later too but I would have anyway. This is a chance to have some fun with this stuff while it lasts.

If any moderators have any problem with any of this, delete it.

Have a good one.

I'm in! Thanks a lot! Very nice of you. I just put the order in. I'll be happy to use them and post a pic of the finished knife. Thank you.

Would you agree to ship a set to Canada - I was thinking of placing an order anyway - You can put them in my order. I have a blade almost ready to have handles put on :D

Let me know - and a big thank you anyway!

Thanks Tracy this is a very generous offer! I need to order some other stuff also and you will get my business. Thanks again.

Thanks For this great offer, scales for a mule will be in the works and a chance to learn how to post pictures

Way to go Tracy!! I made a small order and added a piece of this. Will post a photo when able. I left the free scales alone so others can give it a try.

Tracy has good products at a fair price and the best service around. Do yourself a favor and look around while there.:thumbup::thumbup:

I am in too. I will have some knives Hted in a week or two that will be getting them. Thanks Tracy this way cool of you.

Hi Tracy - I didn't add the scales to my cart because I know I won't be able to use them on anything for months, but I wanted to say that you're doing a really cool thing here.

Take care,
Cap

Tracy thanks very much, I am in for sure!!!This is a really nice thing your doing!!! Thanks alot,CHarlie

I'm not in, only because I'm pretty stocked up on handle materials... but thanks for the offer, Tracy. I encourage anyone who needs this type micarta to jump all over this deal and browse the rest of his retail site, too. Don't forget to check out his knives!

I'll second/third/fourth the notion that Tracy is a great guy to do business with! After buying materials from him a couple times, I now check his site FIRST when I'm looking for stuff. Great guy with great products and a great crew; customer service is absolutely top-notch, prices are very competitive. Even if his prices weren't among the best, I would gladly pay a couple bucks extra for the peace-of-mind I have when dealing with him. 100% :)

I "ordered" one. Hope it wasn't too late!

P.S. thanks for having free shipping on it too, so it was completely free!

I'll have the knife done in probably 3-4 weeks, depending on when the steel arrives, and whether or not I can HT it myself.
