Just a heads up for anyone who has been looking for this great folder. He now has the black handled version only with D2 or S35VN on his site. A quick google search and you’ll find his website. I don’t want to post a link to it because I’m not sure if he’s a supporter of this site or not.

If he isn't a supporter, then this may also be ill-advised. We aren't allowed to tell folks what is going on Mass Drop since they aren't paid vendors, so I do not know if this would be similar.

The Freeman 451 Button Lock Flipper is an awesome knife.

Blade Forums needs to be on top of the best knives in the business, whether they pay to be discussed or not.

If we control discussion based on how much the subject has paid, is this really an open forum?

I’ve recommended the Freeman 451 Flipper for a long time now...and will continue to. I don’t think that’s breaking any rules of Blade Forums.

Check it out! It’s a great friggin knife!

Totally agree here. Anyone who has the opportunity of getting one should do it. I don't even understand the comparison between discussing a knife maker of Jeff's caliber and then bring up the mass drop drama.

Looks like we share the same preferences with this knife configuration. I love mine. Smoothest knife I have and great looking, too.

Thanks for the update! I was waiting for those to come back! I originally thought about getting a red frame version with carbon fiber inlay, but I got a black frame with orange g-10 instead.

I sent him a message a week ago asking about the colored versions and he said he’s not going to be making those because he’s too busy making the titanium and the black. You did well picking the black one up. Who knows how long he’ll have them in stock.

One other thing in case you didn't know. You can buy the scales and inlays separately if you ever want to change the look of the knife.

My biggest grip with Freeman is the lack of an ambidextrous clip. I've emailed with Mr.freeman and drilling and tapping for the opposite side clip would void warranty. Guess, the knife isn't for me.

I saw his booth and handled a few of them at blade too, I always check for blade play. Which there was a noticable amount when you look for it. Not that it would be an issue during use. More of an ocd thing for me on blade play.

I do like the look of the knives though.

I wasn't saying that we should stifle all conversation about it, your second portion is example of that. But to say what is available and where to buy it is akin to deal spotting.

I didn't make the rules, I just try to adhere to them.

Would Jeff convert to lefty for you or he just didn't want you doing the work? Mine also 0 play, I wonder if the show special was handled a bunch over time?

A bunch of people handling that knife over about a 4 day period isn’t going to cause it to develop blade play.

Mine doesn’t have any blade play at all. That’s probably one of the first things I check for when receiving a knife.
