This happens on your recent sales. It seems like there are a just a few positions that swap around until things settle down. Happened in your last sale, and the one for the sale of the 1-off shiv the Friday before Blade.

No, they'll get a knife. Sometime you see someone post "AAAAA" or some such jibberish. It's just grabbing a place in line, and they'll detail it out later. Wait 'till you see a sale in the main Exchange area, where there is no preview, just "BAM - sales thread is posted". Most of the first posts are non specific or jibberish.
