Friend of mine found old Knifetest.com video/ THIS is the Joe X DESTRUCTION VIDEO Thread

I was bummed to see that tbh.
Its apparent he's milking Busse's fame and this incident for all its worth. In my opinion he's utterly contemptible. And not very bright to boot. If all it takes to be a famous knife expert is to aggressively beat knives onto rocks while grunting, ill throw on a fricking teletubby costume and get right on it. They call US sycophants for defending the business, and Jerry and are treating Joe's video like the second coming of christ. People don't know what irony and hypocrisy means. I'm more upset to see a lack of logic in such a large number of people. And by all this I'm purely referring to the youtube.

Edit: And just when you think the saga is almost over. He has another Busse to "test" next week. Thankfully it probably won't do bad at all. If Vlad's hellrazor is any indicator. But what bothers me the most is, he doesn't bother clarifying nuances, bother correcting misinformation and rumors, or linking to or suggesting people watch Vlad's most recent tests that he DID ON JOE'S SUGGESTION. Couldn't have the company look good, it would make him and his lunatic antics look bad. I have much worse things I'd like to say but I guess I'll refrain out of respect for Jerry.

Go easy, folks. No need to jump each other, we're all in the same boat here, & we're all disappointed that Joe X would rather squat over his own $$$ than send in the pieces for examination.
My request is that we stay classy. Especially towards each other. Cool? 🙂🤙

Just read some comments about me.
Man that group is pretty ............................well I do not have anything nice to say, so I will say nothing.

My AK, TGLB, NMFBM and many others have done pretty well over the years

The steel definitely changed over years, I smashed the TGULB into concrete yesterday not using full force, about 60%. The edge behaved similarly to Joe's testing so I stopped.

Never heard of a Bahco. I have tons of moras though. Simple formula, low Rc, low carbon stainless steel with a scandi grind that is flat sided steel to the edge makes for a very tough little knife. They don't hold an edge long, but it's easy to put an edge on them. Best of all, it doesn't hurt the wallet when you lose or break one.

Exactly that, my friend.
Bahco is a Swedish brand in the hand tool industry, over 100 years old. There are several simple knives, some models produced by Morakniv itself, others produced in Asian countries. But in general, good knives just like the Morakniv. And like you said, if you break something worth 10 dollars, throw it away and buy another one.
I like it and always make real videos of using the equipment in my routine in the woods, this was an exception.
Because some videos used the knife to open canned goods, cut soft wood and label the knife as indestructible.
I have nothing against Morakniv knives, I actually have several.
Thanks for the comment.

Since you are confused lets do a play by play since you said ""How you reached that conclusion from this conversation is a mystery"

"vid that another clown put out...
he tried to give his analysis of grain structure and why
the knife, that JoeX was "testing", broke. In other
words, it didn't break because some moron was
repeatedly beating it against a steel pipe, it broke
because of the grain structure. Oy vey."

Knife makers, manufactures, abs smiths, etc dont break their knives replicating real use, they stick the knife in a vice, they break it, and they check the grain structure. I never, EVER implied that the knife didnt break from hitting the pole but instead VERY SPECIFICALLY explained that the knife performed more poorly that its counterparts made by the same company from weaker steel in thinner stock thickness because of problems with the heat treat that were directly caused by the design of the fuller and was verifiable by the grain structure.

Makers dont throw their knife into a vice and break the knife to check the grain structure, find a problem with their grain structure, then say "oh well, its not the heat treat its the vice and the cheater bar"

So i cant imagine how you got lost here but if there was nothing to be seen by looking at the grain structure in a situation like this then Jerry wouldnt be here saying he wants the pieces of the knife for analysis.

This is all very, VERY straight forward.

Now you're just pivoting away from the quoted comment you kept insisting was what you were responding to, and muddying the waters further. Id say that's acting in bad faith.

Joe definitely had an axe to grind. About 2/3 through the video he went on a nasty rant about Busse and USA and said alot of dirty shit!

It was obscene and the dude needs to take a few more plunges into that frozen over pond.

Its fun to watch stuff be destroyed but the JoeX videos don't really change my opinion on Busse or ? JoeX loses alot of creditbility with his vulgar behavior and click bait antics.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has shill accounts boosting his content and defending his actions.

Had a Barkie in A2 chip twice on wood. With Busse I’ve cut aluminum poles in half on concrete with little edge damage that was caused by the concrete below the pole.

Rewatching the video the amount of effort he’s pulling on that thin anorexic tip is amazing. Cutting through the car door with zero edge damage. The only thing that seemed to damage it was cutting through rocks at 60hrc.

Aus8, sk85, and machetes certainly aren’t 60hrc.
And it seems no one is taking into consideration the geometry and bte thickness of the blades. There are so many different variables that you can just say oh its down to the steel type.

ABSOLUTELY!
Which btw is why I want to do videos analyzing his content to bring these things up and hopefully make the people who enjoy the content also have a chance to get some education out of it as well.

Bte bte bte
