Friend of mine found old Knifetest.com video/ THIS is the Joe X DESTRUCTION VIDEO Thread

Looks like he's going to do destruction test on both (2nd blade in hand) ASH2 by the looks of it

Joes tests are as scientific as just throwing a knife into an automobile shredder, and gauging the performance by how many pieces the knife gets shredded into.

Noss at least performed real world cutting tests.

That’s probably the best analogy I’ve seen.

You can only take certain bits and pieces of the video realistically. Which is still valuable info.. but you have to interpret it piece by piece.

Instead on focusing on how and when it eventually failed (if it does). Look at all the ungodly abuse it took before that point. Then think of how many lifetimes it would take for it to happen in your own usage.

The metal pole to me is hilarious. No sane person would beat on a solid metal pole, hurting their own hand in the process. Yet people are clamoring for more test videos. We certainly are an odd species.

If he was even 10% more scientific about his tests they would be worth 100% more in my opinion. But instead it seems he’s taking the “go full r*****” approach.

Also I’m mostly excited to show how the true Hogs respond. No tears. No anger. Probably throw another one at him until he wears himself out.

JOE X is a good guy.

He is very goal-oriented. . . . He sets out to destroy a knife and he accomplishes his goal !.

His videos are fun to watch and I would imagine that he is even more fun to drink with!!! 😁

Geometry is a huge player in how this type of destructive test is going to play out. Blade length is also a very big factor. Tantos are typically going to be much tougher than full-height flat grinds that are optimized for efficient chopping and slicing. The steel and heat treatment are important, but in destructive testing, geometry is most likely going to be your biggest factor.

I'm looking forward to his video and hope that he stays safe while testing. 👍

Let's Drink! 😎

Jerry 😁

Agreed. There’s things I would do to a FFBM that I know well and good would not fly with the AFBM. Both have completely different geometry and excel in different tasks even though they are based off the same model.

Well Joe-x has got his hands on some busses. I believe ones a anorexic battle mistress and i think the other is a variant of the steel heart 2. So we will get to see how they hold up soon.

Send him a .420 MOAB
Better yet, send him a thin Scrapizashi.

Joe uses the knives rigidity against itself with the metal pole. My “highly scientific” reasoning is the knife vibrates itself into oblivion, or something like that.. been a while since I was really into knife physics.

When he tests machete type blades, they shrug it off because they’re made to vibrate and bend.
He eventually gets tired and shoots it instead lol.

INFI is known for being hard and rigid yet flexible. Doesn’t want to break. Not sure about vibration though.

But IIRC the Scrapizashi could bend a full 180! degrees.

It's an ASH2 CG black g10 handles i sent him with the dt12, high polished and convexed edge, it will be tested!
