I have just re-read all 9+ pages of this MOST informative thread, and wanted to bring it back up, sort of full circle, as they say. In Charlie's original post he shows Case 6345½ cattle knives, and I just secured one (much newer, however) off the secondary market. In some very nice green bone, it's an NKCA club knife from 1987. These are the seller's pics, as it hasn't arrived yet.
One of the interesting things to me about this knife is the very tapered pen blade. I don't think I've ever seen this shape before, almost like a dagger blade. And even with VERY deep, full blades, the profile when closed is sleek and pocket friendly, with the sunk joints. Also, with the spines of the sheepfoot and clip blades running parallel, your grip is the same when using either blade. All in all, a very useful pattern.
