I think I'll get the Nyala next for sure but I'm going to make a set of scales for it. I have some beautiful stabilized buckeye burl I was saving for one of my Mules but since I have three already I want to try a new fixed blade. It feels great in hand and I think it'd be a superb deer knife.

Yup that one. There's a cocobolo and snakewood one at my LKS. Super duper smooth pivot, it was exactly the opposite of what I expected and the best part is its a one hand opener.

Agree with bhyde about the support, you're going to need it if you're married and she doesn't like blades, and even if you're not married, once you get one you will probably get the CRK OCD disease :)
