from which company you got the BEST Customer Service?

Three Sisters Forge, and Grayman Knives - quick responses and clear and straight up talk. Awesome.

All production shops involve bigger turnarounds, including BM, ZT, Emerson and Spyderco.

Very interesting two choices. The Beast and Dua at one time were tied for my favorite knives and I couldn't decide which one to edc. I chose the beast based on customer service.

As you can see from my post in this thread yesterday, the customer service from TSF far exceeded my expectations.

Grayman...not so much. They are definitely very nice and respond incredibly quickly every time. Couldn't ask for better there. But I emailed them with a very small, common problem, and while the response was quick and polite, they wouldn't help. No explanations. No suggestions. Just a simple "no sorry, we can't do that."

From that day on, I've only carried the Dua twice maybe and I've only NOT carried the beast twice. I just feel more confident that if I have a problem i can count on TSF.

My best experiences have been with Chris Reeve Knives and Case.

I rarely interact with customer service departments, but here are a couple that I recall:

GOOD: AG Russell. The Postal Service stole the knives out of the boxes one time, and AG immediately sent replacements.
GOOD: Garmin. Sent a GPS back for a minor repair, and they quickly sent it back. I think they sent an entire replacement unit instead of an actual repair.

BAD: Brunton. Their compasses suck, I returned one, and it took forever to get a refund. They kept trying to send another sucky compass instead of refunding the price. :grumpy:

BAD, BAD, GOOD: Queen. One of their knives was defective (that's bad) so I sent it in. Bad, the knife was discontinued and they could not replace it. Good, they immediately sent a refund.

A.G. Russell..
plus A.G. had everything to do with me finding BladeForums for which I'll always be grateful.
Just wish I could have went bird hunting with him one time.

Doug :)

ZT by far!!!!!!

Me.." I broke the blade on my 0350 prying open a door. Yes I know it's not a pry bar"

Zt... " it happens, send us your knife for a new blade"

2 weeks later. New blade. Back to prying doors. Lol.

Himalayan Imports. Definitely. I remember buying a Khukuri from Uncle Bill - We spoke and figured out which one was best for me. He then went ahead and shipped it just on the promise that I would send my personal check in the mail. He was quite a guy and truly missed. Yangdu seems to be keeping things going with the same spirit too!

Sal and Spyderco are number one in my book.
Benchmade is a close second.
Microtech is third but slipping lately.

I would have to say it's a tie between Kershaw/ZT, Leatherman, and Ka-bar.
Leatherman replaced the pliers on my skeletool after I snapped then in half. (Apparently they were not made to cut those "mighty hook" picture hanger things) Very friendly, fast turn around.
Kershaw was super nice on the phone and sent me replacement parts for free. The problem was that they kept sending the wrong parts. I was trying to replace a screw on my composite blade shallot and the screws they kept sending were too long. It took four times to get the right part but they were extremely helpful each time to the point that I didn't mind because they seemed to genuinely want to help.
Ka-bar gets an honorable mention (specifically the Becker line) just because everyone I know that has had a problem has been helped out and taken care of. Ethan is quite the stand up fellow.

I have had a couple great dealings with Benchmade and Strider (MSC). I've had a couple custom makers fix things for me. David Curtiss of Curtiss Knives is a class act. He has done a couple mods and shipped them back for free and it only took 6 days there and back (round trip). Mike Vagnino is super fast. I had a Custom Velox that developed a lil play from me flipping so much. I shipped on a Friday morning and had it back on Tuesday. He also takes the time to make a phone call and gives his personal number to you. Getting numbers from a few of these guys does not happen .

I've only dealt with two; Benchmade and Chris Reeve, and neither was for any type of manufacturing defect.

I sent a few knives back to BM at the same time for sharpening (back before I knew how to sharpen knives), and got them all back within a couple weeks with new pocket clips gratis. Later, I sent in my Benchmade Triage for sharpening and to have the blade laser etched. Again, I got it back in 2 weeks with a new clip.

I sent a Small 21 to CRK a few years ago for sharpening, again because I didn't know how to sharpen it myself. I got a phone call telling me it was received, and I also got a phone call about 3-4 weeks later telling me that it was being shipped out. I got it a few days later, really sharp and they blasted the handles so the knife looked new.

I've heard these CRK horror stories about them taking months to fix a knife but that wasn't my experience at all. In fact, it was that one single customer service experience that kept me buying CRK's.
