  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Funny things non knife people say.

Some swag dude in my criminal investigations class needed some scissors. Whipped out my leatherman wave's scissors. And then I watched like a hawk as he cut some light plastic. "Thanks man..."I wonder what he would have said if I whipped out the ZT 301.

Sometimes I'll make a knife in my garage. Granted he is 7, but i walk outside to check the mail, still holding the knife. He stared at me wide-eyed and asked me "Hey, are you gonna kill me with that?"

I was fixing a Zippo with my LM Wave, and as I opened up to the pliers, my friend asked why I was carrying a Butterfly knife.

And then my other friend was arguing with me, insisting that assisted knives are illegal. He thinks he knows everything because his father is a cop. He tries to argue with me on many knife laws, but 99% of the time hes wrong.
Also, this kid claims he has a nice knife collection with a real KaBar.
*goes to his house and looks at "collection"*
*sees BudK kabar clone, a bunch of cheapie flea market knives, and crappy Budk stuff*
*loses faith in humanity*

I love it when people tell me that my knife (whatever one) is illegal. Because it's a switchblade, or a balisong, or because the blade is longer than my palm is wide, or because it's a fixed blade, or whatever stupid reason they think is the law because they heard it from a guy who heard it from a cop.

The only law in Arizona regarding knives is that there are no laws in Arizona regarding knives (except for schools and government buildings).

My best friend, who owns a cold steel thrower and hawk, nearly ruined his pants when I pulled my Voyager-XL Clip Point for the first time in his sight. He asked me why I was carrying a "pocketsword", and refused to drive anywhere with me while I had it on my person, was absolutely convinced I would get him arrested!!

It's not so much the parents I don't think. With the broad implementation of zero tolerance policies at schools, where kids are expelled for having a SAK classic in their violin case to clean rosin off their strings...the kid's reactions are pretty reasonable.

I hadn't thought of that, you may be right. I guess the education system hasn't damaged my kids too much, they both like knives, and the oldest, (now in college) always carries a folder.

My boss, bless his heart, ask me last week if it was a knife clipped to my pants. I have carried a folder clipped to my pocket for over a year there and I just don't think it registered. He is 72 years old though and sharp as one of my knives. But working 56 hours per week would probably turn me into a little bit of a zombie as well.

"How many people are you gonna kill with that one?"

"Why do you need ANOTHER one?"

"GET THAT THING AWAY" (that one is my mom exclusive)

And the classic stink-eye.

I have to emigrate to Arizona NOW!
LOL
You're very lucky, my friend. Here there're a lot of restrictions. And people saw u like as u are a criminal, serial killer or similar. I have to use my knives when people cannot watch me.

The only knife law in NC is none in schools or gov't buildings.

Oh ya!! And no ballistic knives :(
Though it's auto law is iffy/vague.

"How do you close this?"

My brother has a Phd in English Literture and two or three other degrees. He asked to borrow my Delica to open a small package. I watch him as he nearly slices into his hand. When done he looks at it in an attempt to close the blade. With 22+ years of "education" and tons of debt he had know idea how to close a simple lock back. He looked at me for help and I told him to look at the simple knife and try to figure it out. It took him a long while and he nearly cut himself again. He said that thing is dangerous. I said no - Ignorance is dangerous.

"I said no - Ignorance is dangerous."

Best thing I read this year. Love it!

What's ballistic knives? Like as automatic knives? Or assisted?
Sorry, i unknow this term.
Here, automatic knives are prohibited (not only carry them, u cannot have any automatic knife in your home, too). Assisted knives...are in a "empty legal", or "legal vacuum", if you carry any assisted knife and policeman registered you, he can seize the knife at him choice.

A ballistic knife is a knife that has a powerful spring inside the handle. The Russian Spetsnaz (army special forces) is famous for having them. Some have a safety pin like a grenade. Flip the switch, and the blade flies out.

In AZ we can have ballistic knives. And carry a gun without a permit. Or carry it openly. And being a Class II/III state, you can own supressed machine guns and sawed-off shotguns if you want (and pay the tax stamps).

But you can't own nunchucks. Because that's just too dangerous.

Personal best "why do you need your knife that sharp??
most common 1 I hear "oh, it is assisted opening?!?!? You know those are illegal"........... Uuuuuuummmm no, not here
Then they ask "how do you know?".... 'Because I checked & im not completely stupid'

We can open carry here without a permit. But need a permit to conceal carry. We can have suppressors here, but not too sure about the LMG, or sawed off shotgun. We can have nunchucks.
