Future of production knives

Are you trying to trap me by using some sort of manufacturing regression? Are you going to logic this down to the machines used to make the knives? Was that your plan? I’m not here to play pedantic games involving minutiae. I’d prefer not to buy something stamped “made in China” if I can absolutely avoid it.
I was just having a discussion, but clearly this thread has devolved past that. I'm not out to convince you of anything, or to engage in any unpleasantries.

Good day, see you around the forums I reckon.

My endgame is to just get one of these robots, strap a hammer and a grinder on the end of it, and teach it to make the swords for me.

Is anybody concerned that a decade or so from now, virtually all production knives will probably be made in China? Many U.S. knife makers have already moved their entire production lineup to China/overseas (e.g. Pena, Chaves, Cold Steel, etc.) and now folks like Microtech are dabbling more and more in China. The economics of manufacturing just so overwhelmingly favor doing it in China it might be impossible for CRK, Spyderco, Benchmade, etc. continue to compete in the production space down the road... Is it all downhill from here?
I have a feeling a lot of the parts and hardware at microtech are outsourced to China already. And the way the act talking about the future of microtech they are leading into the signature series being the USA line at basicly double the cost. And the old standby basic stuff turning into Chinese crap.

Have you actually held the socom bravo? It's a very well made knife with good materials.

Well we've heard from the "your lucky to have a job crowd".

There's still good knife makers here in the USA, and they are busy.

Made in the USA still means something to many of us. And I'll pay that premium.

I'll leave the imports for all the "psuedo patriots".

😎
