Future of Tenacious?

That pink native is BADD! I just might have to pull the trigger on gettin one of those. How about a Tenacious in orange? The millie in orange is sweet.

New variants sound sweet. "Must haves".

Now if they could just add a little color.....

Color is a big deal to me. Take this past weekend, I stumbled on a Pink Native. That's about as rare as hen's teeth over here. I nearly didn't buy it as it was expensive at around $166, but I couldn't say no to the pretty color. The salesman wanted to know why I wanted a "girly" knife. I could have told him about the fundraising for breast cancer initiative, I could have told him about the Native ergos, but I really wanted the pink Spyderco. All those pretty colors, pink, blue, green, grey, white, yellow, black, red, camo...

How about a Tenacious with one variant color....

I totally agree. The Native is way out of my price range and so is the Orange Millie. I'd love to get some color especially if it's a tenacious. I'm thinking of getting one of the Salt series for that reason...and they look really cool.

New colors would be awesome, on the tenacious/persistence, and on the Byrd line. I'd like to see blue or green. Not foliage green, but a dark green like hunters green or british racing green.

Speaking of the Byrd line, are there any new Byrd models in the works? I think the one thing the Byrd line is really missing is a fixed blade. A neck knife would be cool, or a hunting/outdoors knife like the temperance.

Hi Graysonk,

No changes planned at this time.

We do have a smaller version in-the-works, the "Persistence".

I like, I lot! Would be an interesting alternative to my D4, since it turned out the Tenacious is just a little too big to be comfortable to carry (I try to stay under 3")... But still a great value and a knife I'm glad to have purchased

you don't like ZDP steel?

It's pretty spectacular. Maybe a main "improvement" to the Caly3 would be grippy carbon fiber and keep the ZDP-189. Big fan of S90V and BG-42 as well. I'd prefer either of those, but using ZDP wouldn't be a deal-breaker.

the carbon fiber is peel ply isn't it? That's pretty grippy already

A custom orange scale Tenacious:

Hey Golbat. Where did that come from? That is freakin nice! Is that wavy texture just visible or can you feel it?

The Caly3's CF is not peel-ply like the Military. It's smooth woven. :)

thank god you said something josh, that knife was in my cart when I saw that post. I'm not interested in a smooth carbon fiber. It's just not for me

Have any of you Tenacious owners had the blade open on you accidentally? I saw it happen to nutnfancy on youtube.

The Persistence sounds really cool. I might have to pick it up.

You're welcome.

I must say, it is (for me) the ultimate dress knife. The smooth CF is perfect with the low ride wire clip for those awful wear-a-suit days.

Nope, it never has on me. I keep mine in my pocket or in my bag clipped. I've been cut like nutnfancy was (not with my Tenacious) and I'm not anxious to repeat the experience. It was an accident, from what I saw of that video. So was cutlerylovers.

Yes, visible and you can definiately feel it.
(Custom maker Zsolt Porpáczy made it to one of our hungarian forumite.)

I would LOVE a partially blacked out Tenatious, all the stuff except the blade would do just fine IMO.

My Tenacious converted me; best knife value today. Replaced my Benchmades for EDC and I bought 3 more @ AG Russells sale last month for Christmas presents. Handle variants & D-2 steel would make me buy more even at a slight premium.
Thanks for a really good product. I'm now hunting for a military.
