G10 Griptilian - when?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not liking the look of the G10 scales on the new REI exclusive model...

The color or the texture? The texture is the same as on the SHOT Show version and feels comfortable in my opinion. The color isn't my favorite (I'd prefer blue/black or red/black as used in the other LE G10 Griptilians) but olive drab is a fairly common color on outdoors gear.

These three are the only G10 Grips Benchmade has offered and the textured scales are all the same, other than color.

I read a post a few years back from Mick Strider at USN saying that the G10 scale on the SnG was stiffer than the Ti side. With the thickness of the scales on a G10 Grip, I don't think you need liners for stability at all. They're there because the Axis lock needs them.

I'm not sure I trust Mick Strider's ability to perform repeatable scientific experiments. Nonetheless, the partial liners aren't an issue for anything approaching reasonable use.

Both I suppose. I've never had an issue with standard textured G10 scales in terms of 'grippability'.

I find the G10 on the Grip to be somewhat slick, even with the texturing. I think it would be hard to hold on to with no texturing at all.
