Ganzo FH11, is it really D2 ?

It is a clone. I forget the name. But it 100% is a clone. As I said it's not as popular as it's sold on the scammers websites ie Ali express etc. And ganzo don't make 200$ knives. So it's clear as day they are not the original designer

But besides that the companies other knives are clones too. So its not supported regardless if they make one original design or not.

As I said these YouTubers are not to be trusted. They get free knives for review of these clones. They don't give a damn about clones and that is very bad for the rest of us.
OK , I promise not to mention the "G" word on this forum again !!

OMG...

Calm down.

Ganzo is trying to do it right. Finally...
Don't need to beat a dead house... We all get it.
Many of the other "coveted" Chinese brands parent companies used to do cloning as well...

Anyways OP I noticed that as hard as they have it it holds onto a wire edge like crazy...

Make sure your completely removing it and you should be good to go..
This isn't the typical cloned "440c" garbage that they used to do...

Hey, you don't don't have to agree or understand everything

Well, I can live with that, but the thread was opened by the OP, asking a legitimate question.

Again, not sure why one would "answer" someone's question that way, but "whatever", I guess.

I was out of the knife hobby for a while and I didn't know either so you're not alone.

The problem with budget knife reviews is you got to take them with a pinch of salt. No matter how glaring the flaws of the knife it's always justified with sayings like "For the price" etc. And are given glowing reviews that make them sound great when they really are not.
Save up and educate yourself on here and get yourself a knife that you can be proud to carry in your pocket. Its worth it.

Far too little too late! I'll beat that horse until it's dead in the afterlife too!...And then, beat it some more! ;)

I think Ganzo can begin their penance when they stop selling the clones. They can offer original designs until the cows come home but the first step will be to make all the clones and copies go away. That's when the clock of redemption begins ticking.

Don't listen to the haters, the knife is fine. It's your technique, try cutting with your wrist a tad limp.

Ganzos require a slightly modified cutting technique due to the Chinese equivalent of D2 having elongated carbides that stretch longitudinally inverse.

The modified wrist technique negates the Chinese d2 steel issue.

You really improve your trolling skills. "One post at the time" o_O :D:D:D

I have to ask...
Why the hard on for ganzo?
Seems as if the likes of sanrenmu get a pass..
They still make and sell clones...
Maybe some consistency would go a long way?

I'm not a supporter of ganzo or the other Chinese knock off brands although I have sharpened plenty (coworkers friends and such), but if they do start to try and come out of the hole they dug themselves into who are we to chastise them for trying to follow a better path?

I know I'll hear it so...
A blurple manix 2 is living in my pocket today

I don't give SanRenMu a pass either. In fact, I struggle with SRM. They spun off RealSteel in an attempt to make nice, original knives. The H6-S1 is a great knife but I still feel a little dirty when I mention a RS knife. It will take some time.

In Ganzo's case, they've made no attempt to move from their origins in design theft but are only offering new designs to expand their product line. Maybe the differences between Ganzo and RealSteel aren't that profound but in my mind there is a difference.

In terms of specifically which knife the FH11 copied; I honestly don't know. The "Kwaiken" style is so widespread I'm not sure we can call this particular knife a copy of anything.

Again Sanrenmu doesn't get a pass especially here

As far as I know from when Prometheus lights took over Fenix...

RUIKE Outdoor Tools Manufacturing CO., LTD make RUIKE brand knives, Sanrenmu, SRM, Real Steel and apparently do OEM work for Spyderco, Kershaw, Boker+, CRKT, Buck and more.

This is why I seldom join in on the conversation...
Been on here since 2005 and the "moral crusaders" get worse all the time...
I remember a time when everyone strived to be helpful and answer questions. Before forcing their beliefs onto others.
I don't care if the OP's knife came from the devil himself, he asked a very simple and legitimate question then gets all this "cross waxing".

I've said my piece I'll bow out knowing I actually attempted to help the OP.

Have a wonderful day.

besides all the obvious that's already been mentioned..........ganzos unethical stuff and likely wrong steel and poor heat treated etc......

sure op ya dont have a wire burr?

Good to know that your moral beliefs are so obviously the right ones that you can easily ignore the irony in your own post.

If my irony that yes I have beliefs, got brought to the surface only after attempting to help the OP
is indistinguishable from the instant trolling that began I must apologize.

I completely failed to recognize the self-righteous, trolling, attacks (in poor humor)
that have become the norm. My bad for attempting to be helpful regardless of my personal moral qualms.

I can't feel or see a wire burr and immediately after sharpening it does shave hairs. I am quite happy to accept that it's just crap steel but equally happy to know that it might be my lack of skill sharpening D2 !
