Ganzo FH11, is it really D2 ?

The OP nor I are praising/reviewing/or undeniably discussing a counterfeit/clone. No one has been able to provide ANY proof of the knife being a clone.
A "Kwaiken style" knife alone isn't enough to condem it as a clone, it's to popular right now. Everybody and their Grandma makes a "Kwaiken" right now.

I was here LONG before you sir.
Back when this forum was the epitome of knowledge and brotherhood of the knife community.
Everyone was here to learn, everyone would go out of their way to help a fellow member.
If they (for the most part) didn't like what was being discussed they would move along.

Just like what the new Ritter threads turned into, now I'm mistakingly feeding the trolls.

What this thread immediately turned into after the OP asked a question is flat out bordering on bullying. The trolling starts making fun of every aspect of the OP, the question, and the belief that they could ask aloud about a possible sharpening issue.

Yup I had to throw my feelings in as well, but not in the same hurtful, trolling manner.

The company makes clones. This community doesn't support clones. It's in the rules. "We don't want them here, period". The fact that this company is a scamming cloning company directly relates to the OP's problem, much more than your advice. It is a dirt bag thieving company. His knife isn't D2.

Best advice:
Don't base your experience with D2 on scummy ganzo. Don't support cloning companies.

NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY PROOF THE SPEFIC MODEL KNIFE IS A CLONE.

I have NEVER seen a specific list of forbidden brands in the rules, only counterfeits and clones...
So until such time PROOF this SPECIFIC knife is a clone unless your trying to help STFU.

It doesn't matter if this particular knife is a clone or not. Ganzo is an unrepentant and disrespectful company that has done nothing but hurt our hobby like a parasite.
If you want to praise them, there are other forums that you can go to.

Look around use the search function and check out some threads.

If you'd like to start a new thread there just explain you have a 63hrc Chinese d2 knife that your having problems keeping an edge. Are there any tips to help. Explain what your using to sharpen and your progression in detail and one of the guys there will probably be able to help out.

As I mentioned in my last post some advise. Generally 63hrc is very hard. You may need better stones like diamond, cbn or sic stones to get through it. Then work on your technique.

Cedric Ada did a test with 4 different rat2 in d2 steel knives each sharpened by different people including himself and each had a different result. The professional sharpener had the best result and the host of the video had the lowest result iirc. So it can very based on variables. They each had the same angle, same ending grit and same model knife in d2. Everything else was different from person to person.

OP, I agree with this. Stick around, there's a lot of good information here freely available from contributing members. Sorry a ghost had to cast doubt on what are very real facts about Ganzo and sadly, the knife you bought.

Look at the first post you made. You gave ganzo a pass for trying to do the right thing and legitimized that position with the argument that other Chinese companies did the same. The simple problem here is that you are wrong. Ganzo still makes clones. They are not trying to do the right thing. Their bread and butter is still clones. Don't give them a pass or legitimize them. That won't work here.
