If my irony that yes I have beliefs, got brought to the surface only after attempting to help the OP
is indistinguishable from the instant trolling that began I must apologize.

I completely failed to recognize the self-righteous, trolling, attacks (in poor humor)
that have become the norm. My bad for attempting to be helpful regardless of my personal moral qualms.
Well, now you know.

Climb down off your cross. You're making precisely the same type of moral judgment that you were bemoaning in your post. If you weren't, you simply would have tried to help the OP and left it at that.

As far as I know from when Prometheus lights took over Fenix...

RUIKE Outdoor Tools Manufacturing CO., LTD make RUIKE brand knives, Sanrenmu, SRM, Real Steel and apparently do OEM work for Spyderco, Kershaw, Boker+, CRKT, Buck and more.

This is why I seldom join in on the conversation...
Been on here since 2005 and the "moral crusaders" get worse all the time...
I remember a time when everyone strived to be helpful and answer questions. Before forcing their beliefs onto others.
I don't care if the OP's knife came from the devil himself, he asked a very simple and legitimate question then gets all this "cross waxing".

I've said my piece I'll bow out knowing I actually attempted to help the OP.

Have a wonderful day.
Thanks PJH

It's not just "our beliefs". It is actually the policy of the forum. If you don't want to hear what this place is all about then I would advise you to stay away.

I can't feel or see a wire burr and immediately after sharpening it does shave hairs. I am quite happy to accept that it's just crap steel but equally happy to know that it might be my lack of skill sharpening D2 !
It would be nice if you could get a D2 blade from a reputable company to compare. In the mean time, if you can get a (at least 10 -12X) jewelers loupe, that can help you see a fine wire edge if it's there.

Seems as if the likes of sanrenmu get a pass..
They don't. They copy knives too. Who said they get a pass? No one. And if you look at other threads they dont. The latest srm knives steal designs from zt Kershaw, Ken onion, Hinderer and another. They are just as bad as ganzo.

These types of threads always make me lol.

This China company is good but this one is bad.

I've never physically visited any of these factories but it's always a good idea to look up a companies physical address and then do a cross search for that address or phone number.

Some companies will try and scrub some of this history once they've created a premium sub brand but generally the wayback machine does a nice job of keeping the past just a click away.

I saw Ganzo mentioned here a little while back and looked them up. I came across a model that basically looked exactly like a PM2 with a Axis lock. Now this is speculation but when I saw it I couldn't help but think to myself "are these the guys that are making counterfeit spyderco's?"

And that kinda thing does effect the knife market. I had to ask for help on here buying some used military's, as I wasn't sure what to look for.

Maybe ganzo has nothing to do with the outright fakes but imho if you invested into the molds etc its not a far stretch to go all the way and make counterfeits.

For this specific model I'm not finding it...

Show me...
Search " original design m390 samurai "
Clearly ganzo stole an original design from another maker in China. Nothing is safe from them. And ganzo doesn't make 150$+ knives so they were not the factory that made it.

The OP nor I are praising/reviewing/or undeniably discussing a counterfeit/clone. No one has been able to provide ANY proof of the knife being a clone.
A "Kwaiken style" knife alone isn't enough to condem it as a clone, it's to popular right now. Everybody and their Grandma makes a "Kwaiken" right now.

Wow...
I was here LONG before you sir.
Back when this forum was the epitome of knowledge and brotherhood of the knife community.
Everyone was here to learn, everyone would go out of their way to help a fellow member.
If they (for the most part) didn't like what was being discussed they would move along.

Just like what the new Ritter threads turned into, now I'm mistakingly feeding the trolls.

What this thread immediately turned into after the OP asked a question is flat out bordering on bullying. The trolling starts making fun of every aspect of the OP, the question, and the belief that they could ask aloud about a possible sharpening issue.

Yup I had to throw my feelings in as well, but not in the same hurtful, trolling manner.

Thanks for telling me "how it is"

You are trolling.

Your right...
I'm trolling, the trolls...

I see the same few crusaders again and again...
The first time I speak up about it whammo I'm a troll...

Yay me...

NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY PROOF THE SPEFIC MODEL KNIFE IS A CLONE.

I have NEVER seen a specific list of forbidden brands in the rules, only counterfeits and clones...
So until such time PROOF this SPECIFIC knife is a clone unless your trying to help STFU.

Op, the steel is a variant of d2. K110 bohler iirc. It is between 62-63hrc. if you know anything about China d2 and heat treatment, it's likely a bad ht because 20$ knife that is a clone doesn't care about adding time to let carbon come into solution for a solid ht. They just care about it being d2 because it's popular and 60+hrc because it's popular.

You may want to run the edge on a stone to remove old bad steel, then try diamonds to set the apex. After this refine it with more fine diamonds or SiC stones. You probably only need two or three stone grit progression. You should be able to cut paper with the coarse stone after you set the apex.

Make sure you don't have a wire edge. This can be hard to detect and hard to remove. Try removing the wire edge on a stone rather than a strop.

Hmmmm.... can’t decide if you’re just trolling or if you’re admitting to having another screen name. Maybe the mods need to run an IP check. You talk about what a brotherhood this place “was”, and yet you have like 85 posts in the last thirteen years, so I’m not really sure what you mean because you’ve definitely never been one of us...

Unless of course, you’re admitting to having a second account and this is your trollbag account.

Is that a Lococoo? I found a similar image searching google. On a buget light forum they were discussing how simular the fh11 was to this.
