gap between thumbstud and blade? sebenza

No biggie! And, for what it's worth, while I'm still not checking for .0005" air gaps on my lugs, I would be able to see the off-center section of your dimple even without my glasses on. Heck, I could probably find it with a cane even if the dog couldn't figure it out. ;) If it'd been me at the bench, I think I would have pulled that set and reached back into the bin for another set that were better looking. :(

Yeah I would have done the same if it were me. It's no biggy though. I'll just mention it when I send it in for a spa treatment. However many years down the road that may be, lol.

I was looking at that pic again and wondering what the dimple is for. Is it concentric? If it is, I wonder if it mates with a conical tip on the press die? That would be very ironic...a change in tools and parts to make things easier to center better but an individual part that doesn't work quite right?

Is He Really Grouchy.....?....lol

During the phone contacts I've had with him, he's always been very warm, patient and happy to explain what/why/how.

LOL... me personally have only had pleasant dealings with CRK and Mr. Reeve :)

There has been comments made on here and other forums I have seen over the last year or so that he is grouchy and short tempered............

I PERSONALLY have spoken to Mr. Reeve 2 times on the phone and I must say the experience was amazing. He was more than polite, very happy, very excited to talk to someone about his knives that fully appreciates them. He was more than happy to explain his knife design, why he designed it in such a way, what the knife was doing when being opened and closed, etc ( ie. Umnumzaan ). I felt I was getting a lesson in knife geometry and I was absolutely thrilled. It was like I was talking to a childhood idle and I told him as much. Near the end of the conservation, I told him how many knives of his I had and you could hear the pause as he knew he was speaking to someone that truly loves his knives. He could not thank me enough, and I thanked him in return just as much for making a quality knife and for standing behind them. It was an experience I will never forget. He even said if I ever come to Boise, to stop by and he would give me a tour. The are the reasons I have always considered him THE MAN when it comes to knives.

Years ago also, for those of you that are into Hunting, especially African Hunting probably have heard of Mark Sullivan. One day I placed an order for one of his African Hunting DVD's and Mark actually answered the phone and took my order. I was like a little kid. I talked to him for about 1/2 hour....I had an issue with my double rifle butt plate cracking and he told me who does work on his $100,000+ double rifles and he highly recommend them. I took him up on it and sent my stock to them and they fixed it better than new.

Also on some of the other forums, Mike Stewart who owns Bark River Knives will happily answer any questions anyone may have about them. Mike is easily the most easily accessible Knife Company Owner. From doing some reading, Mike and Chris actually have some history together from Chris's early dealings with Black Jack Knives.

For me just being an average joe, these were HUGE Deals to me and memories I will always cherish. Such dealings make you feel special and the money you spend Worth Spending on these guys products because when you actually get the honor of speaking to them, they truly Do Care...!

Enjoy...!!!

More words than I used, but basically reflects my experience and feelings. There are a few really great personalities in this industry today, and Mr. Reeve is one of them. Sal Glesser leaps to mind as well.

Perhaps it could be taken as a compliment to CRK, in a manner of speaking, that we have to look carefully to find something "unusual" about these knives we enjoy so much.
The more I learn about these knives, and CRK in general, the more I appreciate them both.
This Forum and the good folks on it have helped greatly in that.

You got it real good if these are the extent of the problems on a Chris Reeve knife. Makes you wonder what kind of things are discussed over on Strider forums :D.

This is true lmao. Better off buying a fake strider rather than a real one....I'm serious.
