Gathering Contest...The $20 Survival Kit

I've only been to one consignment/thrift store and didn't find anything like you guys have. No 10 cent knives or 99 cent backpacks. I'm jealous.

I know mqqn and jds1 have been busy, Mr Sogetsu had his computer break down, frontiertom has disappeared ( I`ve emailed him that his set is done, no word back), and TheZenful1 is missing.
 
I'm not so much missing... well I guess I've been missing from posting for the most part. I have been keeping an eye on things and this contest sounds awesome. But... as I said in my last posting in the Gathering Date thread, I'm not sure if I'll get the chance to get out of work. Once news of a date is set, I'll be able to hit my boss up for the date off, & I may have a good friend of mine interested in joining us for the gathering.

The sooner I get news of the when, where & what not, the better my chances will be.

Ok Im in But, I do have several small children so as long as nothing crazy happens LOL Im in. besides the contest what else do we need to bring? - Joel

Hi Joel! We usually all bring some kind of food, I supply the burgers and hot dogs. Be sure to check out that little resale shop in your town for stuff, I`ve come across some goodies there.
 
Is there a size restriction or anything like altoids tin or anything? and you have to buy it so you have a reciept right cant really use what ya have without a reciept- Joel

No size restriction, and you must have a receipt.

With my wife putting together stuff for her upcoming business venture, we have been going to a lot of resale and thrift stores, Google is a wonderfull thing for finding shops. The best ones are the bigger Goodwill stores.

There is a nice big one down in bloomington not quite an hour south of dwight and a good one in Joliet too. I think thats where my wife has been buying my clothes ;)
