Cool indeed!!!
This thread is awesome. I think it's time I get myself a real Argentine knife, not merely Argentine-inspired.
Any plans to get a fancy verijeroCelloDan ?
Thanks for sharing the book title! Yes, the coat of arms of Chile was one of the things that caught my eye, being Chilean myself, though I think I only noticed after reading about the provenance of the knife. Very suitable for such a piece, since the motto featured in it is "Por la razón o la fuerza" ('By reason or by force').Yes, the English certainly made some incredible styles for the world-wide market.
That picture is from "The Antique Bowie Knife Book" which shows a few other wonderful models meant for the South American and Mexican markets.
This particular knife shown bears the Chilean national emblem on the handle pommel.
Fantastic video Dan! Wonderful!Hi Charlie, it’s a kick sled.

And use that fireto cook an asado that I will then eat with my new Verijero
And that is how Finish kicksled and cuchillos criollos argentinos integrate seamlessly together in one post![]()
Gracias NealGreat pictures that represent the passion for our hobby. And I also thoroughly enjoyed your food preparation photos. Good food and a fine knife, what could be better.![]()

Here's another similar knife I believe is featured in the same book - I believe this one is an Argentine piece made by Minervus from France (according to We Are Rogue, the Tumblr from which I took it):

We are visiting my parents in London ON with our daughters while they enjoy their March break from school/university.
We had not seen them in quite a long time.
I am feeling so very happy to be " back home" for a few days
My Mom approved of my new Verijero. She used it to prepare a couple meals and get the patina going.
I grew up on these foods!
There is no other feeling in the world that can compare to the one of being back home and having your Mother serve you the meals of your childhood were the main ingredient is LOVE.
As I entered my 50's the age gap between us no longer seems as big. She was only 21 when I was born. At times, when reflecting on the brevity of life, I dread the day she may no longer be with us. It is that funny feeling, in the pit of your stomach, that you just want to push away but keeps coming.
I take that feeling and use it as a way to be more present in the here and now ... and enjoy each bite of the lovingly prepared food.
I am so blessed to still have her in my life !!!
My Mother's hands. I hugged her after taking this pic and she rested her silver haired head on my shoulder.
you Mom
