Hey guys!! ^_^

I have absolutely loved every step of my knife loving/learning/collecting journey (Although Whine & Cheese was a bit much, I admit... ;) Haha. ♡ Who cares! :)) I also realize that I never would have found this delightful hobby without major help.

How do we get more people introduced to knives? Well, I have an idea...

My Plan:

I am going to give a Victorinox Orchid Alox SD Classic to someone on here, someone with a super cool person they know who would absolutely love this hobby if they dipped their toes in! :) It would have to be on the honor code, as I would actually have no proof that this special person in your life truly exists. I'm reaaaaally great at trusting people though, so I guess I would just do that. :]

This will be a Sparkly Knife Scholarship for a cool dude or dudette who would just love knives, and blade forums if he or she got the chance to be introduced. ♡

I chose it because it will be a great starter knife that they would be able to immediately start using, and would be able to use everyday, plus I truly believe one's first knife must ALWAYS be a Victorinox in some form. :]

DM me or write here if you've got someone in mind for the Sparkly Knife Scholarship! ^_^ ♡

I hope you all are having a great morning!! ^_~

PS: This knife IS going to be Orchid colored, as I have already ordered it. <3 I hope guys will think this is a cool color too!! ^_^ I think it's a bad ass color no matter what, but that's just me. :]

Funny enough I gave exactly that Victorinox to my mom for mothers day the other week. She quite liked it. I was thinking of getting this:

For my sister. Since she could legally carry it (Slipjoint) but still big enough to be useful (the SAK is a bit on the small side imho), and she likes my Spydercos. I think a newbie knife (Male or Female) should be:
1. Affordable, both so THEY don't feel about using it AND it's not a big deal if it lands in a drawer and goes unused
2. Easy to operate and safe to operate (Big Blade+Unfamiliar Lock+Smooth Action = Cut Fingers)
3. Appeal to the person who gets it. For example, I know my sister wouldn't like a super tactical all blacked out knife, but she wouldn't necessarily want something all gray stonewashed either, a bit color is a necessity.
4. Legal to Carry/Own of course
You can't go wrong with that Tattoo Dragonfly, if it was a Slippy I would definitely consider it too.

And to your Idea, I don't think it's a bad idea at all. It might be a little more difficult to organize, but how about looking for a local girl scout troop and inquire if one of the girls there did anything that warrants a particular reward? I feel like most guys here who have a female friend/family member/etcpp have already supplied them themselves. Although maybe somebodies daughter, wife/gf have an upcoming birthday or other celebration?

How do we get more women introduced to knives? Well, I have an idea, but I really would love to hear yours as well! ^_^

My Plan:

I was thinking of giving away a really good knife to someone on here, someone with a super cool daughter/girlfriend/wife/woman friend who would absolutely love this hobby if they dipped their toes in! :) It would have to be on the honor code, as I would actually have no proof that this special lady in your life truly exists. I'm reaaaaally great at trusting people, so I guess I would just do that. :)

This would be a sort of scholarship for a cool gal who would just love knives, and blade forums if she got the chance to be introduced. ♡

Do you guys think this would actually work? Some of my knife Giveaway ideas included:

An Orchid Alox SD Classic Victorinox:

It would be a great starter knife that she would be able to immediately start using.

A Spyderco Dragonfly SS Tattoo:

Small, great, useful.

Basically something light, useful, and an all around good knife that would introduce her to good knives.

But I think I need a little more help than just this. Does anybody have any thoughts or opinions on this goal of mine? Do you think it is even a good idea? ♡

I hope you all are having a great evening!! ^_~

My daughter would melt into a puddle on the floor for an Alox knife like that.

Almost every knife that I have gifted to women have been SAKs. Much to my surprise, many of the knives actually get used.

Hey Sabre Cat! ^_^ Do you think your daughter is a candidate for The Sparkly Knife Scholarship? :] ♡

These are really good points b00n! :)

The girl scout idea is not bad at all, b00n. ♡ Leave it to you for the good ideas! ^_^ I don't know how non-blade forum people would feel about rewarding a girl scout with a knife though. They might not get it themselves.

I think there are plenty of females on this forum. Most don't disclose their gender though.

I'm sure that is true. ♡ Although I know for certain, at least in regards to everyone that I know in my life, that none of my women friends know very much about knives. And I want them to. ♡ Hence this giveaway. ♡

If I am being exclusive I sincerely apologize. It was not my intention at all. I just wanted to do a good thing. ♡

It's your GAW , run it however you want.

But please keep in mind knives aren't gender specific. Though we occasionally get the "what knife for my wife/daughter/girlfriend thread". Most of us just let the women/ladies in our lives take whichever knife we own that they like.

This is the knife my wife carries in her pretty pink purse.
