Gayle Bradley 2

I'm also very interested to understand where they dropped the weight on the new version. I really hope they didn't make the liners (much) thinner than the original, those burly liners are part of what makes the Bradley so awesome!

...I find your comments strange because the GB is one that I have no problems with closing left handed .
I've found the GB needs a different technique to close no matter what hand your using but once mastered its very easy .

Ken

Hmmm? Out of my knives, this is the toughest knife for me to close. Maybe if I had an "over the top" desire to master it, I could. But with other Spyderco Taichung beauties that are a delight experiencing, I've just exhausted my patience in my futile left hand mastering attempts with this GB. I would have to handle the new GB prior to purchase to see what changes would benefit me to where I would actually carry and use it. Probably end up giving it to my son...one way or another.
I'm really glad it works for you Ken. I'm jealous.

Its a shame you didn't get on with the GB , but I do understand that everyone's requirements are different and unique to them .
It is a good knife , but the beauty of Spyderco is that there is always another model to research :)

That's another thing that never bothered me. I traded into the second one and have some mod plans for it.

Don't underestimate the awesomeness of full scales on the GB; they're super comfy compared to the stock design.

I'm tempted to snag another GB to work mod - that'd be my fourth. :foot:;):D

Random pile of knives pic just because  :

Anyone else stoked for this? Was pleased to see a couple of sites planning for it to be about $130-$140.

Can't get released soon enough for me!

I'm interested in one as long as it doesn't have a sticking liner lock. Was unable to find a Bradley 1 without a sticking lock out of 3 I ordered. All were sent back.

Boo.

Two of my four have sticky locks, but one of them is cerakoted, and the other was acid washed. Soooo, that may have contributed to the stickiness. I do look forward to the GB2, though. I'm sure it'll be worth picking up to play with at the current list price.

I have never had an issue with the lock, I just don't get all the hubbub Bub.... I have two and will get the new one. The M4 is just a great pocket knife steel. Really suits my needs. Even if it was a pain to open I would have one because I love how the M4 wears and the relative ease of sharpening. It may not be the ruggedest spyderco but it is the burliest one I own. Russ

I see Knifeworks now has these for pre-order and the price is amazing, quite a bit less than the GB1. This could turn out to be one of the best buys of the year as far as new releases go!

Got mine in @ KW. Sage 1's are approaching that price, so I was pleased with it.

wait... it thought GB2 would look like this:
spyderco_amsterdammeet2015_productionprototype_bradleyfolder2.jpg

if they stick to that, i'll get one. finally they're getting rid of that biologically-inspired handle shape. but if it's looking like the top one on #38, i'll pass.

Yes that's what it looks like. I think they should have brought the edge all the way back to the handle or at least angled the plunge so that the edge "hangs down" and sharpening is easier.

The two pictured in #38 are both original Gayle Bradley models, one just had the scales modified to make disengaging the lock easier.
