Dang! its a Holy knife.
I'm thinking about replacing the non locking side with just a carbon fiber scale, and get a thinner carbon fiber scale on the other side to match.
This is the only spyderco that I bought a backup of. The Gayle bradley is my no.1 spydie
I like that, I might have to do the same thing. Did you use a dremel?Prior to the one I have now I had owend the GB twice before---wanting to like it in a bad way---on paper everything was in it's favor for a hard working knife, hell just look at what Andrew put it through.
The major hang up for me was the liner lock access or for me "Lack there of". I work outside all year long and if I have to take my gloves off to close a knife that was a deal breaker for me.
I did the lock modification a few weeks back and it changed everything:thumbup: I have to be able to dis-assemble and clean my tools and the GB is a breeze in regards to maintenance. This knife out performs so many other knives (for me) in so many ways that I was determined to have it as my "go to" work knife and now it is.
GREAT construction, EXCELLENT blade steel and EASE of maintenance---this one will be with me from here on out!!!
Mod for easy access to liner lock...

Thanks for the info, you did a great job. If I didn't know what the knife was supposed to look like, I would never have guessed that it didn't come from the factory like that.Sodak, I'm sure you could. I actually used a sharpie to mark the amount to remove then on my benchgrinder I removed the bulk of the material then used my Worksharp with 80 grit belt to refine it then progressed to my 150 grit belt then finished off with the fine polishing belt:thumbup:

Nice job, Paul. Not being a manly man like you, I had to pay someone to do the same mod on my GB. Rock on.
