GEC 2023 #87 English Jack

If mean me, I am aware of that. I just haven't got time to take some pics of my elderberry 39, it's pretty even, not totally, but it's perfect compared to some other examples I have seen.
I was not speaking to you, I would have quoted you if I was.

Perfect to you, others opinions may differ.
Thanks for proving my point.

I'm afraid that we won't.

That's a pity. Not like I am for killing poor giraffes for their bones and skin, but I recall giraffe's bone is usually colored in brown, which I would really like to see on that stretched Washington Jack. Let's just hope camel isn't elderberry again. Or blue...
Ah,I think I just misremembered what bone was on the way.
No matter what, the prices seem to be increasing even for acrylic over the cherry wood beaver, so I’m scared what a camel is going to cost for this large two blade. I

Nah, they changed giraffe to camel just today.

What were the prices on the already released versions?

Wow, they actually swapped it out? Wild. At least I'm not as senile as I thought!

I paid $160 for my Beaver 87 but saw them and the cool oil 87 in the $145 range earlier today.
But also acrylic over $180 and the average of what I've seen in in the $170s.
The fact that I'm seeing any in stock at all is evidence we're hitting top price point for (most) GECs, I think.

Ooh... I mean, I expected it to be something around that, as every big GEC knife is usually priced higher than most of the smaller ones, but still.

Or maybe that's just a coincidence and you got there at the right time. I've happened to literally stumble upon some Northwoods last year, and they were sitting there for a few minutes.

If I carried and used a big same end Jack-Knife then the Bird gets my vote and that shield is on point too

As it is, I don't carry or use such knives anymore so I'll be on the sidelines just watching the fine pictures. Being a voyeur has some virtues, sometimes ;)

I'm kinda thinking that the TBD jigged bone variant will be a magenta dye with the hot dog shield.

I'm basing this off of nothing but a gut feeling and this morning's mostly inscrutable tarot card spread.

Thoughts?
Aren’t the hotdog shields normally put on the Tidioute variants? I’m hoping it’s the un-x-ld shield in some sort of brown/yellow jigged bone.

Actually, I don't think we've seen the hotdog shield in quite awhile. For a time, they were using it in every run.

You know I considered that and went back to buy and missed my window 😂 😭

same, the only reason id even try is to match the 86 sucker rod. Believe it or not, I had considered trying to get a 65 from the recent release to file down that copperhead bolster. looks like the 87 is a slightly wider knife and will save this mod project. I suppose its one id have to get deleted, perhaps in the f/s section someday.
