GEC 2023 Dogleg Jack #562123

Another one I’m happy to sit out. That said, I like the shield and I do like the EO notch. To me these are a step up from the previous doglegs in terms of looks. I feel like it’s been a long time. 2014? 2011?

The dogleg seems like one of those patterns that doesn’t have a lot of rabid fans, isn’t seen very much, but everyone nods sagely and it gets admitted to the Traditionals table. Does anyone carry one regularly and would care to expound on why it’s the best ever?

Just the opposite. I've had several each of the single blade and two blade #56s and traded/sold them all away because I preferred other patterns. My favorite mid-sized GEC jack is the #92 Eureka, with a little more blade length and better ergonomics.
 
I'm not terribly excited about this pattern, but I may try for one since I've never owned a dogleg pattern. On the other hand, I'm also not excited about another spear blade.

That's absolutely beautiful! Exactly what I expected after seeing the production pics. So far that's my preference of the run, even though they made a nice checkered micarta, which seems to be smoothened unlike those on the Harvesters.
