GEC 25s - Gots 'em?

They turned out nice.

When they make the artwork for the unicorn acrylic, they should put a horn on the horse's head... and maybe some glitter... ;)

haha. And a rainbow in the sky!:D

Nice ones guys! Do you notice any grain or pattern in them or are they consistently white?

There's a little bit of waviness on the pile side of mine. I noticed it a bit in one of the dealer photos, too. I'm guessing it'll vary from knife to knife. My mark side is a fairly smooth/consistent white.

Got my order in for a NF burlap micarta. I guess I'll see how those turned out.

The Goldenrod is cool, but this is my first experience with the 25, and it is very small.

Same here. But it's a little hard to get excited after the issues with the acrylic. That was the one I was looking forward to.

I got a golden Rod heading my way up here in Canada and from the photos I've seen I think there the best looking out of the Tidioute versions IMHO of course. ;)

For the people who have already gotten their 25 or 25's , how would you rate the action as far as pull and snap ?

I haven't got my Golden Rod Jigged Bone yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing it. The jigging looks good, somewhat different than GEC's "standard" Tidioute jigging. (Tracking number still says that it should be delivered today, but I'm not holding my breath, because it's left St. Louis three times now -- on Wed. night, Thurs. night and again this morning -- and doesn't seem to have gotten anywhere near Arizona yet, much less to my local post office or "out for delivery." This concerns me slightly, but I'm trying not to get anxious about it. :D)

The pull is pretty stout, with good snap, pretty much identical to #25's from previous runs.

I was not able to get this knife until yesterday at the Rendezvous. They has a few of these as "Store/Seconds" knives and I nabbed them. Pretty knives and the "Store" knives are virtually flawless. Maybe a slight gap here and there.

My Goldenrod came in today. The jigging is sharp enough to snag on everything. Should this polish down on clean leather? I don't think I can give it enough time to pocket wear but I don't want to carry it and have to deal with snags.

This is one tiny knife but the snags and size hasn't kept me from handling it all day long.

^^ I would think your idea would work . I have a 68 stockman that came with sharp jigging . It didn't take long to smooth out in pocket . I just carry my knives with everything thing else

I managed to snag a pioneer bone and a unicorn. The unicorn is much harder to open than the pioneer which I would describe as a little lighter pull than normal. This makes it more comfortable to use, especially in the absence of an ez pull. But I am sure the difference in pull has nothing to do with the material. I prefer my pioneer in appearance, and will be returning the unicorn. So, somebody is going to be happy. I do like the unicorn as well. I cannot imagine an acrylic looking more like genuine ivory. It is just a little boring to me. The pioneer bone is much more interesting. In my opinion, the 25 needs to be an ez open. I hope to pick up one in the future.

Didn't get any of this run  but the EZ-Open Tidioute with shield that I got from the 2009 issue had very sharp, shard like jigging on it. If you can give it pocket time...well, you can tame the jigging with fine paper then run a leather strop with compound over it and a drop or two of mineral oil and you'll see a big improvement.
