GEC 25s - Gots 'em?

Well done my friend . You must have caught Russell at a very weak moment .

Harry

Weak for sure Harry, tears in my eyes and all that....lol.:D No, I had decided to let my 25's go to allow other pattern purchases, I feel better knowing that they ended up with someone I know around here.:)

Outstanding picture of a very nice little knife Dylan .

Harry

Thank you, Harry! This knife continues to surprise me. What's even better, is that my wife enjoys it as well. I need to find one in blue though, she a bit partial to blue.

I got these two 08's from Russell at the Rendezvous! Thank you!! Rusty1 Rusty1
I am afraid that these little fellers may be addictive!:eek::D

Those are some real beauties, Ron. Though I think the stag is certainly the winner of the two. Seems that the more fine examples of stag I see, the more I am liking it as a cover.

I bet those little two blade versions really turn them into a knife to be reckoned with. The added heft has got to be quite pleasant.

So I've been putting my Unicorn Ivory Acrylic #25 to good use (being that it is an "S" or Store model) and have run into a rather annoying problem. I haven't minded the liner pulling away from the spring, but now the tang seems to have a burr or something that is digging into the liner. It has made opening and closing rather gritty and difficult, almost a nail breaking affair. I've rinsed it with soap and water, lubed it, opened and closed it numerous times, and rinsed and dried it again and it hasn't improved greatly.

I'm just looking for advice on how to fix this, as I was really enjoying carrying and using this knife (still wish I hadn't waited too long on the ebony model on the last run). Any suggestions are appreciated.

I also am still not clear on whether the Store knives are covered under warranty, and therefore able to be sent in for service. Anyone have a better idea on that than me?

Half/Stop Half/Stop wow absolutely stunning 08s!!!

I'm not sure what GEC's policy is on Store knives either but I think they would probably fix that free of charge regardless. It's a pretty serious defect in my opinion and obviously not caused by abuse or user error.

It's been awhile since your post. Have you contacted someone at GEC? I think that might be your best option as it will most likely require disassembly or replacement of the knife if they have any left.

My second of the 25's came in. At first, I was disappointed with the lack of color, but I kind of like it now. It's almost like ivory without all the guilt and stuff;)

Alan, I think that looks stunning! In no way, shape, or form would I be disappointed with that beauty.

My Polished Stag shipped the day before we left for England, which meant that it sat at the post office for over a week, being held with the rest of our mail. I finally got it today, and I think it was worth the wait. :D

Just sent an email. I'm hoping it's something I can fix myself. I'm sure they'll have great service as always.

So I decided that all of the knives built on the #25 frame would go in one drawer. Here it is... mainly #25s with a few #26s on the top. Not the best photo but I was too lazy to take them out of the drawer and arrange them in some fancy pattern. ;) Only about 175 more to go to complete the collection. It's good to have goals!

Thanks Dylan! The two blades do naturally and more heft to the 25 but it remains still very comfortable in the pocket. :)

Wow! I'm sorry for the problem you are having with your 25. I remember looking at it on the porch during the Rendezvous and I was unable to determine what if any defects that it might have had!

Thanks for the compliment on my 08's! :)

Impressive collection! You have got to be rather proud of that assortment.

The thing that I am most thrilled about though, is that there are indeed some blue bone variants out there and one with an EO notch even! Is there anything you tell me about that one in particular, third row down, second from the left? Production date, scarcity, etc?

I ask because I recently gave my wife a 25 from the recent run and she is quite taken with it. However, she certainly favors blue and she has a tendency to have very short, if any, nails so I feel the EO notch would be beneficial.
