GEC #33 Conductor Whittler

I just noticed that collectorknives.net has this 33 whittler in ebony up for sale on their site a few minutes ago. I'm on a tablet and cant figure out how to copy and paste links or I would just link to it but its at the very bottom of page 6 if anybody is interested in it.

Does any one know why they treat ebony as a second tier cover material?

No matter how fancy, or expensive or lovely other wood is, I just feel like Ebony is cooler, and should be a more regular offering with the long pull, which normally is a Northfield element.

There are a few long pulls with ebony combo's that make me happy.

Somebody please post pics of the split back. I think it's one of the nicer looking features on a slip joint. Distributors/dealers take note: we wanna see this stuff!! :D

Will do, Dude man! (No Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.....lol)

Focus on the cutlery, please. Threads in this forum are supposed to be about knives, not where to buy them. Threads in the "For Sale by Dealers Forum" are about where to buy.

In the in-progress pictures where one can read the notes, I've noticed the annotation, "small keyhole" for this whittler.

Do any of the constructionaries among us know what this signifies?

It's what most folks call the "Cloud" Inlay Shield. The Factory calls this shield"keyhole" most collectors call it the "Cloud". It's one of the regular Northfield Shields.

Ah, okay. Thanks. I'd never heard that before, just "cloud."

I also now see "Northfield" on the note in the above picture, never mind that GEC's projected production schedule doesn't list acrylic Northfields among the up-and-coming.

Always an adventure. ;)

There are a number of Northfield Acrylics coming out. I think something like 6 or 7. Some of which are only 2 pieces, some 4 pieces and a couple in the teens.

I will be getting one in Stag if they look good (I am sure they will). Any one know of the release date? Steven
