GEC #340223 Camel Back Congress

I saw one of the unicorn acrylic versions in person not long ago and it’s really growing on me. I havent seen any other patterns produced with that acrylic but apparently there have been several. I saw a post further up with a few, does anyone know how many models were made with this material?

As far as I know, the only patterns they’ve made with the Unicorn Ivory Acrylic are the #25 Barlow (2017), the #62 Easy Pocket Congress (2020), a very small number of #49s that I think were an SFA/Rendezvous knife in 2022 and now this #34.

Here’s the #25 and #62.

Isn't Yeti Ivory acrylic the same as Unicorn Ivory?

O
No, the first pattern to use the Unicorn Ivory Acrylic was the 2017 run of #25 Barlows.
Oops I forgot about that one! Sorry all. The 2020 run stuck in my head because there was definitely some chatter/speculation about the “new” material.

It’s similar, but not the same. The Yeti acrylic is much whiter. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of them together, and I no longer have the Yeti, but I think you can see the difference comparing this pic to the one I posted above.

Yeah, Unicorn is definitely more creamy. That's very interesting, thanks!

Well, the raw materials are harvested from different cryptozoological species. Yeti bones are bleached white by long exposure to cold and UV rays since the air is much thinner at the high altitudes where they are found. Unicorn ivory is, of course, a horn-based material, really only made rare by the relative scarcity of enough virgins who apply for the job opportunities in unicorn ranching.
