GEC #340223 Camel Back Congress

Can anyone who's received one of these please report on the feel-in-hand of the kick of the secondary blade when open? From the pictures, it looks a bit sharp and exposed, somewhat like the kicks on the secondaries of last year's #59 Shaffer Farm Whittlers, which I had to file into a smoother profile.

My (limited) understanding is that that, when the blade is open and in use, the kick should either be far enough forward so as to form a finger choil, or completely contained within the bolster.

It looks like the secondary kick sits so close to the bolster, it’s unlikely to be a real hot spot issue. A lot of traditional knives have sharp bits poking your finger from other blade tangs etc when in use. Generally not an issue because you’re unlikely to need to use that secondary to break down 35 heavy gauge cardboard boxes.

I saw one of the unicorn acrylic versions in person not long ago and its really growing on me. I havent seen any other patterns produced with that acrylic but apparently there have been several. I saw a post further up with a few, does anyone know how many models were made with this material?

I know the ez pocket congress #62 from 2020 was the first knife to use it.

Just curious, anyone have any blade rub on these yet? They look to be using a fairly thick spring and a deep swedge on the main, so maybe it won’t be an issue on this pattern?

I haven't noticed any blade rub on these. I'm sure if a blade was pushed hard enough toward the other one when opening it, a little contact might be possible. It doesn't appear to be near as bad as some of the the single spring 2 blade models in the past runs though.

Still hoping for more Northfields to be revealed. Would camel bone be too on the nose? Perhaps in black?

Black camel camel back
I'm feeling there will be some Northfield versions announced soon🤞. IMO, ebony covers with the same "bow tie" shield as used on the unicorn ivory would be fantastic!
