Might be the first time ever where I prefer the micarta offering this go around - that whole package is nice. I'm a sucker for rattail bolsters and the steel construction makes me happy. Kind of curious that they are still using brass pins though.

I'm definitely preferring the micarta and rat tailed bolsters on these.

Funny thing with those two new models is that I'd love to get them both, but the fact that they have basically same handles with same covers, just reversed and different blades, kind of cools me off. If GEC could make one knife here, bearing both pruning and cotton-sampling blades... But maybe that would be too much? I know, I know, 'twas the same with many patterns, like 94 and 49, but here I really feel that cotton sampler should be different, have a bone or acrylic covers. Not nagging, just thinking.

Has anyone actually carried and used a Harvester from the previous run? I love the jigging, bolster, shield… just not quite sure I really need that pruning blade.

Maybe it was a similar thought process to when they did the last 47-74 run. I thought those runs were nice because they kind of made a set with each cover.

Yeah, I know the NF has Chen and I don’t think they’ll run the sampler with micarta. They might though, I’ve been wrong once before.

I think theyre both going to be great. I really like the shield and matchstrike pull on the rosewood but im gonna use the crap out of mine so I think the tidioute might have the edge on this one for me.
