GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

As of now I have a single red, single stag and a double micarta coming. Is Mike's system still setup to where it wont ship until they are all complete?

This is what I've been waiting for Mike :D :D :D

Oh that canvas micarta looks soooooo gooooooood. I've had a 2-blade micarta pre-ordered from the start. I can't wait. The canvas micarta looks like what I wish the micarta Soda Scout had looked like.

I love how the dimension pattern looks, and the grippy texture, and the awesome durability, and the exceptional grip of canvas micarta. I am pumped up!!!

I stayed strong (or utterly foolish!!!) And just have one single blade autumn gold coming. I am thinking if there are any left after the "sures" I need a micarta/stag/ivory bone... Respect to Mike for having such a wonderful and desired SFO!

Single blade and double blade micarta long pull spear. As Mike can attest, I cannot wait :) ;) .

I might've posted that already, but excitement has taken over. Going to a powwow then a knife shop next weekend, but I have to save my $$$ for these Marlows.

I wonder why they don't ever round the butt on the Red Sawcut bone on these. I know the other bone options are Smooth and the red is Sawcut, but I think the two could still go together. They tend to round the sawcut bone along the top and bottom of the scale and it looks great but they always leave the but squared.

I gotta register my preference for the squared end. I wish they squared the ends of the smooth bones! :)

Barlows traditionally have square ends. So it's nice that these sawcut patterns still retain that.

I'm already visualizing how great this knife will look once it forms a nice dark patina.

Are these "medium" Barlow's roughly the same size as the original TC Charlow? I see a spear point blade with long pull and swedge which reminds me of the first edition Charlow's. Lastly, are there going to be jigged bone versions in blood red, chestnut, etc?

Little bigger than the 15s, Al. Current run does not include jigged bone.

There is a general (non SFO) release of the 77s in a spear + pen combo, the Yankee Jacks, that will come in jigged bone.

Thank you John, it looks like Tidioute will have a version as well, but is it a Barlow? Hopefully, the bolster on the Tidioute will have some sort of scrolling as well.

The 77 NF Barlows are a SFO from Collectorknives.net. The regular 77 Yankee Jacks will not have the NF Barlow bolsters. They will have regular bolsters, and are end-capped. The Northfield version will have the usual lined bolsters, the Tidioute will be plain bolsters.
