I'm not an expert on the subject, but it seems to me that with the sawcut, if you grind the pins you loose some of the sawcut pattern and it becomes smooth bone. Just a guess.A questions: why does the sawcut bone always get spun heads on the pins while the rest get heads that are ground flush? I like the nice touch and subtle differences between the covers but is there a functional reason?

I'm getting super anxious for my email for my reserves! Mike I love the single blades! They look great. I wasn't into the smooth ivory bone until I found out these were all steel. I guess I overlooked it. I hope there's still some available, I can picture the patina and it's a masterpiece!
