EDIT: Watched all 4 parts tonight. Seriously, wow ! The concentration, dedication, craftsmanship on display, day in and day out, makes me cherish even more each GEC I have and look at each knife with new eyes.

I watched a young woman at Queen, standing behind a two-stone set of grinding wheels on a motor, take knife after knife; once each side on the coarse, and once each side on fine - one side with her left hand, the other side with her right hand!! Slit paper with every blade!! Sharp!!! For years I figured she was magic!!!

I believe this is that thing my wife calls ... Ehhhh...mulxzww.. Uhhmm..... MULTITASKING! yes. And only woman can do it, right. Prolly that's why it seems magical to us fellas.

This really was an epic year for 86’s. I actually bought one of the marrow bone 86 Barlows in this GEC picture directly from the GEC store. It was the bottom one. I gave it to my brother-in-law as a Christmas gift.

Can someone please post a picture of the single blade 86 and the single blade 54.they must be quite similar, the Spear blade on 54 lookes leaner,but I wear readers that are in need of cleaning.

I didn’t know the 54’s were bigger… although I have a 53… maybe I should dig it out of storage.
