Usually a more uneven surface affects the color; like a shag carpet vs. a short pile. I guess I am projecting when I say that, because we'd have to see the two (rough and smooth) side by side!! Deeper texture throws more "light variations", I'd say! Reflection and shadow bounce back and forth between variations in surfaces!!I rememberwaynorth mentioning somewhere that going with the lighter sawcut lets more of the color through. I assume he was referring to keeping the black/very very dark brown as dark as possible? If we went with a deeper sawcut would it have been more red? It's beautiful as it is now, just curious how the sawcut affects the color.

I am thinking that number will be zero. I don't think these will ever show up on eBay - at least not for many years. Call me a cockeyed optimist.I was thinking we could run a poll and everyone guess how many will be on eBay by Nov. 1.

Things got a little busy on my end, so I had to take a step back for awhile. I think I'm ready to join the fold again though.
