much prefer no etch... I want to get rid of mine (flitz?)Just arrived. Anybody else missing an etch? Maybe this is the European version.

Think I prefer it.
Flitz would possibly make it lighter but not sure if it will remove it altogether.much prefer no etch... I want to get rid of mine (flitz?)
That is a beautiful set of cutlery.A few comparison pics…View attachment 1667622View attachment 1667623
Both the club Barlows, both are very nice but I love the AAPK because its 2 blade and has sheepsfoot main, the most unique knife in the 86 run. It is a beast.

I'd be interested. I don't usually go for the high polished look on the blade either, but I do prefer the polished bolsters over the satin ones like the green micarta 86AB has.^^ I'm not a huge fan of banner etches on blades. Being as this one is 440C, I am very tempted to give this one a hand rubbed satin finish. Anybody interested in seeing that?

Yes, I would prefer less shiny.^^ I'm not a huge fan of banner etches on blades. Being as this one is 440C, I am very tempted to give this one a hand rubbed satin finish. Anybody interested in seeing that?
Looking good! I’ve done up to 400 on knives before and it hasn’t been too much for my tastes.![]()

this is where I am at with 320 grit, I may take it to a higher grit or just love this knife as is, I kind of like the current look. Funny thing with steel, you can always re surface it...
Wow, thanks Ed I didn’t know that you had my address. I appreciate the gesture! This very knife (dimpled tang and all) is packaged up in a USPS Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box and will be shipped out tomorrow.
