Agreed - yuckkk!Shield on a Barlow.
Blarg.
Thanks for the very kind words Paul but , I got both of them at the same time , but the other pictures that I may have posted did not bring out the Ridge in the bone . I was really surprised when I saw that picture myself . The Ridge on mine is most likely not as Tall as yours though . This one will be my Keeper and the other one will be Gifted . Another great job by GEC IMO .Harry, I didn't see you acquire the second from the right, that's a LOOKER right there my friend, well done![]()
It makes me appreciate our Forum Knife all the more. A truly lovely knife.Agreed - yuckkk!
Still they will appear on the Bay for hundreds of dollars!!![]()
Nancy said “just say no to crack.” Mr. CC says “just say no to shields on Barlows.” I whole heartedly agree….YUCKKK!!!!Agreed - yuckkk!

Very unique but not as “special limited edition” as we thought bolsters?Man this one ticks a lot of boxes, nicks on same side, useful blade selection, especially that big ole pen blade. I like the covers and the very unique and special limited edition bolsters. The branding is a little over the top but the blade etch at least, will disappear with use. Bill designed them a pretty special offering in my opinion.
yup, that was the pointVery unique but not as “special limited edition” as we thought bolsters?
I could’ve got one of those knives but it was very “meh” to me. Not a knock on the forum or any of the members at all. Hell, I am one - I hang out there too. Just didn’t think that much of the knife.
GEC have used way worse jigged bone on some of their knives compared the AAPK 86. Did you ever see the GEC 15th anniversary knife jigged bone? The words unimaginative and WTH were you thinking come to mind.
A 151521 would have been sweet. Of course, you would have needed to perform major surgery on yours…it shouldve been a 15
I don't know if it's taboo to mention other knife forums (?) but this thread on GEC #86 2021 runs is the right place add this. Apparently there were some fancy bolsters leftover from the Spring StI think this one looks great!
