GEC Abilene...did someone's wishes just come true?

looks good, though looks as though they are going for a broad fat clip blade rather than the muskrat blade of the #81, I think I would prefer the latter, though that is just quibbling, I've been looking forward to this one.

OK - I get it. I kind of thought when the new site was launched they would incorporate everything into it eventually. I don't see the reason for both, but understand which is which now - thanks!

I agree, I think it's a ridiculous idea having two websites, leads to dilution...

Anyway, the knife could be spot on for Stockman enthusiasts, will be popular.

I know I said an Antique Yellow Jigged Bone would be mine, but I'd be just as happy with the Autumn Jigged Bone.

I second you... my preferred scales!
Now it's not longer necessary, to search for an NOS Schrade 8OT. I will wait, what GEC will bring us in the next months, basing on the brandnew Abilene pattern :) Hope, they will bring us stainless blades as an alternate choice!

I'm not even sure what scales I want. I've really wanted the 81 Coon Skinner in Ebony..... maybe this one, but I love bone.... especially the newer antique ones. A new some type of red antique (hint, hint, GEC) would be really cool. Of course, I don't have any stag. Decisions, decisions.

I really hope GEC offers this one with 440c that would make it the perfect knife. I will get 3 or 4 if they use 440c but if they only use 1095 I will have to pass on it because I already have several old timer 8OTs.

I'd definitely only be interested in 1095, but this might be a good pattern to do some of each.

Man that looks good! I've been trying so hard to not buy anything, too. Not that I have been able to hold off of any knives, but I have made the effort ;).

I like that osage orange wood, nice to see GEC use something new, don't think I have seen them use osage before.
