GEC absolutely NEEDS to make another good clip point with wharncliffe pattern!!!

Listen folks,

I am currently frustrated that it's been so long since GEC has made a decent pattern with a clip point and wharncliffe blade, and since I have a Blade Forums account, I will abuse that privilege to complain on here about it to you, yes... you🫵

To start, I think the ideal pattern for function has a main clip-point blade for everyday tasks and most cutting, and a wharncliffe or sheepsfoot blade for more precise and utilitarian jobs. If this blade is a bit smaller for better control, the better! Not really important tho. I feel this covers basically anything you'll run into on a normal day-to-day basis. To me, it's perfect! It is also due to my own personal preference, which is the correct preference (that was a joke, so dont flame me, please. If you do, at least make it funny). I have inconsistently been keeping track of GEC drops for a good four years, or around that, so it's possible I missed one, but I have not seen any patterns that have met this criteria I so very desire, and it is frustrating!!!
I feel like if it has one blade shape, the other is always a DARN (I'm being considerate for those who dislike cursing) spear point or pen blade, or even worse... a spey blade. I dislike those shapes. I apologise to those who like them. I am not saying they are bad by any means, just not my thing, yah know?

GEC, It's been almost a decade... PLEASE BRING BACK THE #82 DIXIE STOCKMAN OR POSSUM SKINNER!!!
The Dixies are perfect, in my humble and very correct opinion (still a joke). So please, bring them back. Either that or the #86 Oil Field Jack from 2019, the #35 Churchill from 2017, the #77 Barlow from 2014. Each one with the clip point and a complimenting wharnfliffe or sheepsfoot blade.
Maybe not the Barlow tho, as much as I'd love it; Barlows sell so fast, and I probably would not be able to get one. If that was the case... my mental state would be blown to smithereens; I'd be devastated.

If they made the #81 Bull Moose with a wharncliffe instead of the spear or spey (which I have. I know, talk about a hypocrite), that would be absolutely* Chef's Kiss* Perfect!!!
In 2017, they made a Bull Moose with clip and spear point blades. One of those had Osage Orange covers. If you replace that clip point with a Wharncliffe, you'd have my ideal working knife

Speaking of Osage Orange covers, they need to do those more!!! It's such a pretty wood. I think it's been three years since the last time they used it. A true shame. Bring Osage Orange back while we are at it!

Am I wrong in the fact that they haven't made a pattern like the one I am describing in recent years? I'm sure one of you knows better than I.

I write this as a rant to vent, but also I am interested in interacting with the community surrounding slipjoints, even if my head sees everyone on here as an old man. Dont ask why, I dont know either. I know it's not true. I mean, I'm 24 and on here, so why can't others?
I am curious to know y'all's opinions and preferences, if you agree or disagree, and if you also think we should encourage a worldwide strike due to this outrage, if you think I'm funny. Just all the important stuff.

That's the end! If you read all the way through this, you have my respect! It is not easy to read while continuously losing brain cells from what you're reading.
Also, mods, I was too lazy to read through the rules. I dont think anything here would go against them, but if I did... Feel free to take me out back and execute me, just make it quick😔

A simple message, I appreciate it. A stark contrast to mine. Maybe when I get more GEC's I'd be more comfortable with modding, but since my collection is small, I don't have the confidence. Kinda silly tho since I've made a couple of knives before. Every time I have modded knives, I screwed them up. Then again... That history consists of 14-15-year-old Andrew using a cheap bench grinder...

I also just like the idea of having a factory knife like that without the modding. I dont think I'll ever make it look as good as the factory does.

But when I do have more confidence... You can guarantee that the spey on my #81 will be no more😈

68 3 blade stockman
77 Washington Jack

And there are a few others that “almost” came back that I wish they’d do more of as well.

It seems like they always get just close enough to tease us a little. And for the record I am saying this with a GEC in my pocket and a half dozen more in my edc bag. Not a hater. Just pointing it out.

I agree nearly completely; just add the Dixie Stockman to the list. I love the stockman pattern, but I much prefer the Warncliffe to the sheepsfoot and the drop point to the... Spey. I apologize. My contempt for the spey blade cannot be withheld.

I totally get what you mean by GEC teasing us, haha. I dont think that is the complaint of a hater; if anything, it's a complaint as a fan. I would say lover, but that just sounds weird.

No post complete without a picture, huh? I suppose I will rarely ever have a complete post:(
I can only ask that I will not be treated differently for my inadequacies.

You are correct! It is an absolutely amazing knife and basically exactly what I am looking for, which is why I dont touch my pretty lil #88 Northfield Bayou Trapper with swamp green (my favorite color), jigged bone, and a gator shield. It is my baby and the closest thing I have to a grail knife. I dont dare carry it around. That's why I want another one, preferably a different pattern since it would be boring to have the same pattern (for me), that I can feel comfortable using. I say using, but I really mean collecting. I just can't bring myself to use them. I just find them too pretty, and yes... that even includes the farm and field model I have. When I have enough GEC's to the point where one of my "lesser" ones holds less value to me as a collector's piece, then I will mess that bad boy up! But in a respectful and kind manner.

Not only that, but I love the shapes of the wharncliffe and the clip point. I absolutely love the muskrat clip point and what I believe is a lambsfoot blade, but they are still different shapes than the normal clip point and the wharncliffe, and I want one that has both. What can I say, I'm a greedy man. Call me Ash Cutchum, cause I wanna collect them all! (Pokemon reference)

See, here lies perfection. Well, maybe perfection is a bit over the top, but being over the top is no foreign matter to me.

If GEC could just drop a pattern with these two blade shapes together, I'd be a happy man. If the covers are Osage Orange, I'd be an ecstatic man.

He carried this one for a while, and I owned it for about 5 years - a great knife!!
The Bladeforums Annual knife in 2012 was a Wharncliffe Trapper!!
Not your shapes, but definitely your blades!!
