GEC Champlin Eureka Jack??

Honey hush!

I was going to save up for an oiled bone EJ, but dang...

Double dang.

Thanks. Is that something traditional / historical? It makes for an interesting set, but is it practical to carry? Does anyone do that?

They are used by people who do a lot of opening and closing--for example in the GEC factory-- to save thumbnails. I imagine if you were an arthriticky person or a large collector you might too. In this case, the JFC Chamblin guys like to throw in extras with their knives.

Could someone tell me exactly how long the cutting edge length on the coping blade is on this knife?

Fausto

Fausto, that looks just like the JBF Champlin model except the rosewood seems a little lighter color. That particular piece they used for the photo is perfect for that knife, the wood grain follows the handle curves purrfectly.

ETA: I don't know when I've come across a pattern that captivates me quite like the EJ (except maybe the MCH).
2nd ETA: I would like to see some oak or curly maple on this pattern.

The JBF Champlin were bareheaded and had match strike nicks. I would really like to see these stay bareheaded, but variety is the spice of life. Looking forward to see the jigged bone examples.

I am looking at these again and cant decide either burnside. I am patiently waiting to see the bone. I like the stag but a bunch of them look super fat which is not my cup of tea.

I'm seeing the Horn, Wood & Stag 92's surfacing for purchase. Can anyone confirm a Bone Northfield 92, I haven't seen any signs or talk of it? If not I might snag a stag

Bone is on the production schedule. The stag looks great but I want to see the bone first...

I wish the horn would have gotten the northfield treatment.

I agree with that about the horn and stag, but I'm all about bone, too. My GEC Antique Yellow collection is growing and I think the 92 NF with that bone would be sweet! Wait and see...

Same here. I'm definitely hoping to see some more of GEc's Antique Yellow in my collection. I have a hard time choosing between that and wood.

I just noticed in the following photo from GEC's website that the 92 on the far left has a shadow over the spear blade which makes it appear to look like a narrow Wharncliffe blade. It kind of gives an idea of how great this pattern would look with a Wharncliffe main blade. Because of this photo, I'm now hoping that GEC will do a run of the Eureka Jack with a Wharncliffe main!

I'm hoping for Autumn Gold, Copperhead, or Antique Yellow in the NF version and Red Wine for the Tidioute! Random jigging please!!! :)

My heart just skipped a beat...
I want either this, or a 2-bladed wharncliffe houndtooth :D
