The fire engine
-standard urban pumping appliance is pretty much the same world wide with variations governed by the climate in which it operates and the budget that its department has to equip it-is a giant toolbox on wheels.
Therefore any tool on a knife you carry in your pocket will have a better, more specific version on the truck. Except for one-a sharp blade.
Not that any of that is relevant because an off duty knife should be for a nice gift for F/Fs retiring or joining or St Florians day 4th May or my birthday as examples.
Seriously though there are dozens of knives on the market for rescue work with astounding features like glass saws and spring loaded window breakers.These range widely in price as well.
Oh and as an aside if you ever come across anything that claims to "unbreakable" or more laughably "indestructible"-take to the fire station ,leave in office or messroom with a note saying "not to be broken".

Still waiting for a handle material sample to get to GEC to determine if it will work with their processes.

Son of fod talked to GEC this AM.

Apparently the material is on an a knife, but is not yet finished and critiqued.

We'll let you know what they say. I hope they like it.

As a quick aside-here was part of my Sunday on duty.
rescue cat from 10m up a tree(using hose to encourage cat to climb down) successful.
coffee and huge waves at Flagstaff Pt.
Retrieve toes from drain at basketball stadium. !10yo lifted cover to try to retrieve coins that mate had thrown down and dropped on foot- chopped off the tops of three toes.ouch.Toes retrieved before ants .
Ride bicycle home stop at bottlo for sixpack of Admiral Nelsons Pale Ale.
