GEC new #43 pattern, who’s excited?

Well my 43 frontier Bone #16 arrived and couldn’t be happier ! This one is staying In Oregon :D
The pictures on knife connection didn’t do it justice as it looks even better in person which was a nice surprise . Lots of character, blade is dead centered , nice walk and talk  Fit and finish is one of the best of any Gec I’ve ever owned .
Yup she’s a keeper !!

You ended up with an amazing example of an Oregon frontier.

Thanks Mitt I’m beyond happy .
I seriously have you to thank because if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have this fine example .
Thank you !

It also came razor sharp didn’t even need to strop it . I wish I knew who was on the Gec assembly line when they made this one because I would buy every pattern !!

You're welcome and I'm glad you gave it another shot. I really like how it has an aged saw cut look around the shield.

Me to :) I almost didn’t and wanted to run away as fast as I could was my first reaction lol. It really has some nice character but not to extreme it’s very tasteful .
For my preference anyway

Is it me or does that red Jig bone look to busy sorta speak ? Maybe it’s the size of handle being so big and all the jigging ?
I normally like a jig bone pattern .
Or maybe it’s just because there’s so many knives in one picture lol

Any blade rap on closing with these? I looked through a bunch of posts, didn’t see it mentioned but asking because my Madison hits. I had to put in a tiny piece of rubber where it makes contact.

No blade rap on my 43 frontier Bone but can’t speak for everyone of course.

I think it looks pretty good!

I think it is probably something they check for on this pattern and hone it out.

Hmmm not for me .
I think on a handle with so much Real estate it looks better with a smooth handle.
To much jigging going on or maybe just the continuous pattern looking the same with so much handle .
I’m sure some will love and some not so much ;)

It is definitely one of those subjective features of knives. What do you think about the rusty red as opposed to the brighter shade?

Love the rusty red
For sure different likes no doubt . Normally I like Jig bones but on a smaller handle I guess .

Yes

We need to all meet in Tennessee this weekend so the 50% of folks that don't like the light colored Frontier can swap with the 50% that don't like the dark. I have officially petitioned GEC to never again offer a slab option that has any type of variance in color or texture; especially if it is natural.
