GEC new #43 pattern, who’s excited?

Cocobolo arrived today! Shown here with 74 in the same wood. I kind of like that the 43 is more of a solid, uniform color to contrast the stripey grain on the other.

The pile side is darker, but still has some lighter highlights that show through in certain light.

Into pocket this one goes!

My cocobolo arrived today...wow. it's super nice. It's hard to get a picture of the grain of this thing. I'd say the pull on mine is a nice 5 and I can pinch the Northfield blade pretty easy. It's a big knife, which I have been carrying bigger knives recently. I'm gonna flush the joint a couple of time and see how it turns out. It's fit and finish is really nice. Over it's a great blade!

I'm most likely going to pick up one of the orange camel bones or maybe one of the Tidioute trimmed knives.

I got my rust red jigged bone today and I like it. It struck me that the "rust red" really is rust colored. Anyway, the spring is lighter than my 42's and the Madison Barlows at about 5.5 more or less. Actually like the lighter spring on this one.

Oh for sure, it's top notch. Now I just have to decide what other cover option I want. I am on standby for a stag so I'm hoping that comes through...we will see!
My cocobolo is the nicest gec I own. I just happened to stumble onto gunstock jacks knives a couple or so months ago and saw a 73L and fell in love.. since then I have shifted back into traditionals and have acquired 10 gec knives and a few other brands. The 43 coco is the best. Not a gap anywhere, pull is nice a stiff. Don't know if I'm the only one who does this but if I hold a bright light behind this knife zero light gets through the spring and liners. Can't say that for any of the others ...lol. tight as a drum, pretty, perfect centering all for under a hundred bucks..if it only had a linerlock......

Resistance is futile.
My ears pricked up when these were originally announced. I had to dream up excuses not to get one-
Wasnt fussed by the handle choices.
Reasons being
I own several red bone GECs already inc 73,74,42 15, 12 ,TC and a moose
Neither Pioneer nor Fontier bone get my pulse racing (unlike Primitive bone)
Already got 2 17 forum knives in canvas micarta (more on that later)
Already got a Cocobolo 23 with gorgeous figuring.
Already got several greens.
The Orange didnt do it for me either.
So I let it go.
Then this thread pops up.
Be strong meako I thought.
Then i saw the pic with 3 of them open.
Sleek and curved ,great lines.
Only one choice
Brazilian Cherrywood Beaver .
A first for me plus it just sounds good.
Have mercy.
Hope it gets to me safely.
Cheers
