GEC new #43 pattern, who’s excited?

Triple Trappers (Oregon, of course)

The patina really started forming yesterday while doing kitchen prep. I was making beer can chicken in the backyard, and set out a bunch of lemons and onions to cut up. The lemons kept getting cut, even after the chicken went on the grill, for adding to my beer and other drinks. Two hours of lemon slicing, without ever wiping down the blade, worked a patina miracle.

So I kinda did this tonight, I broke down two limes at the beginning of food prep then let the knife sit until we did the dishes after dinner. The pulp on the blade left it pretty splotchy — I’m guessing because it was one round of slicing and then a long sit versus frequent slices at intervals. It’s not ugly, but certainly not where I’d like it to be. Guess I’ll have to keep using it to even the patina out a bit ;)

Potatoes, onions, fruits and different meats as well...it will get there soon enough!

I ended up with two. had to drive 7 hours to the knife show for number two so I dont feel any guilt for that. I saw 5 of them there and maybe 20 or so came up on the distributor sites. Saw one just go for $278 on fleabay....haha. Theres about 100 missing!!

I'd be curious to see a few more photos of the club knife that was made. I've seen a few on here and they look pretty nice.

On the Northfield version, antique green jigged bone, is the blade polished or satin? Really liking the look of this one (like my Beaver tail and Micarta really need another friend)

anybody use one of those pocket slips from collector knives that has the pocket clip on it?

I have a couple of them and love them, makes it super easy to access your knife. Here is a #42 in a large clipped sheath that I use to carry my 71's for scale. Leather quality is very good and they will form to your knife over time. Clip sticks out more than I liked so I flattened it out in the vice.

Nice. I have the red that I cart my stag #73 double blade in. I am hoping the red darkens some with age. Love to see these offered in a dark brown, I would buy about 3 of them.

The red CK slip will darken with age -- mine is a deep deep dark maroon (mink oil helps darken them too).

This came today....they were out of black. I flattened this one as well, might do a little more. I noticed it was pushing my blade out of center and keeping it there. Im going to position it just right and dampen it abit so maybe it will form the way I want. I like it.

They were made so the blade would lay in the stitched side; but understand if that is no comfortable for you.

Thank you, I have been trying it both ways, photo just happened to be the opposite of what I'm sticking with. I'm really liking it..
