GEC's French Kate Knife has been revealed

Thank God.......finally an alternative to Rough Rider............ummmmm......pass

I was afraid to click the link, because I usually want whatever it is.... but not this time, I'll pass too.

Wasn't the heel there to be used as a bottle opener? It looks like that one is a bit short in the heel and might not work as originally intended.

I've always thought those knives were some of the ugliest knives around, and I'm part Italian!!!

I was hoping for a Laguiole pattern fit for a lady. Something for the wife to put in her purse maybe.
Never understood the Ladies Leg knife. They look like a low rent gag gift to me.

I am with you on the bottle opener. Lot of companies have made variations of the pattern including Case in 1990 (they were made in Germany).
I am going to pass also on the pattern and the fushia bone. ;) Never thought I would ever say it, but I prefer a dog leg. :D.

Hope they didn't make too many, they might be passing them out at the GEC Christmas party. :)

Here ya go.
I swear that heel grew!

Now if it looked more like a swell center split back whittler, or if they made the heel more of a roach-killer, with a burnt fishnet jigging on smooth bone...
(just seeing if anyone at GEC is still reading :D )

It did grow a heel - and a hook in the heel -- totally different from the first picture - this one you could open bottles with. The original version shown would have been useless for that.

If it did look like a split back whittler (3.5"-3.75" closed, main Clip blade, Pen and Coping secondary blades) they probably wouldn't be able to make them fast enough.

Not only grew but it is now slightly curved so that it will open a beer bottle? If I recall the first heel was straight?

Yep, she was revamped from this:

Looks like the same pic with the heel cropped away in Photoshop.
