Probably. Those things wear out from heat more often than not. I recommend one of those fan bases for anyone who buys a laptop. Also, blow the cooling vents out at least monthly, if not more often.

Once the factory warranty is up, go in and replace the thermal pads with Arctic Silver (just a small drop, it spreads out and you don't want overflow onto your motherboard).

As for AIO desktops, I would have a hard time in that price range. Get at least an Intel Core i3 system. The Duo Core or Intel Core systems are slow with today's software.
 
I don't mean a all in one system sorry, I meant total price of 5 hundred.

A regular tower computer not the screen with it all built in

Take a look at Dell or Lenovo. Of course, this is coming from the business world, but their quality carries down into the consumer level computers, whereas HP is generally cutting corners across the board. We went HP for 3 years, due to cost-cutting in our business and we're losing money in the long-run, due to systems going dead a lot faster. I'd say "I told you so", but my incompetent boss already got fired.
 
You can find some pretty good deals at the Dell Outlet, The wifes machines both came from there. Desktop was a good deal, notebook was a screaming deal. If I didn't build my own machines that's where I would go to for one.
I hate notebooks, They always die.

Where is that at? Is it in the settings? I am looking, but not finding it anywhere... and thank you for the heads up. I usually just type my post in outlook then copy and paste to the forums when writing "books".. a save draft button would work well.
 
My last laptop was a Gateway ID series. Their on the river store for less than $500. It wasn't bad but it was temporary because the vaio I had at the time crashed. I soon sold both of them to buy an Alienware which is a monster of a laptop.

If you have written a 'book' or any short novel and wish to retrieve it when 'accidentally' hitting the "reply to thread" button, simply go to 'advanced settings' under the reply window and there you will find to your left 'restore Auto-Saved Content.... SALVATION !!!!! :D

since they change to this format I had my fair share of this madness before accidentally coming across this feature...

ETA: I also think even if you left the room and came back if you scroll to the bottom of the page you intend to reply to it will automatically have the "restore auto-saved" button at the bottom left corner of the reply window... hope this helps someone from going completely out of their mind....

So it looks like I'm getting a Dell i660s with i3, 6GB ram, 1tb hard drive the i660s-3850BK.man that with a 20 inch led and 3 year warranty and I'm out 700 bucks....what a day.

i'm kick butt at work, and of course, wearing myself down to get ahead... feel a need to prove something...

eventually some monies will come back my way, deadbeat client claims to be paying this week, though they're trying to pay the same amount for W2 vs 1099. right. taxes were delayed. other issues.

but soon, i shall be my own man again, somewhat.

think i might need a couple of those wonder sling-shots.
