Damn nice score Ben! I'm actually jealous. I've seen his sales threads many times and been tempted. Let me know how the whole transactions goes and I may have to pick something up!Another perfect examople of whatshinyedges edges has been preaching.
Just yesterday I was on the knifemaker's exchange, and THIS popped up. I couldn't pass up that Sphinx. I'm a sucker for a sheepsfoot, love knives with a blade in the 3.5-4" range with a full sized handle, love saber grinds, and I've never had an Elmax blade but I've heard great things. For $110, with a sheath and including shipping from Poland, I don't see how I could pass that up. Oh, and denim micarta is a great touch... I can't imagine finding a production knife with that material spec at that price. Seriously, our custom makers here on the forum are offering us a value that just can't be beat.

I'm jealous Ben, thanks for posting your experiences with our craftsman here on the forum. I've eyeballed knives from both of those makers for some time now and that leather looks first rateI was going to post up a new thread for pics of customs, but this thread deserved to be brought back.
Some pics of the Kornalski Sphinx from @Kosa_PL , wearing some new leather from @Makael who has officially pronounced this a "Badass knife." I can't argue with his assessment. Of course, Mike's work was, as always, impeccable.
I haven't gotten to use this knife much yet, as personal life, and hosting Thanksgiving made life a bit crazy the past few weeks, but at least this little beast made it out for a photo shoot. It's really one hell of a knife. As soon as time allows it's going to see plenty of time on the hip and in the hand.

I also recently snagged this little slicer in 15n20from Dalibor, AKA @Daado. It actually already did see some duty doing food prep for Thanksgiving, so it is already developing a little baby patina after only having it about a week now. It's a light, nimble, and very thin slicer. A real joy to use for cutting tasks.

On the topic of getting handmade or custom or handmade custom knives I have 2 on order with our friend @ShannonSteelLabs that I drew up and dimensioned.
Eagerly awaiting them, good things come to those who wait! (Or so they say anyway)
Couldn't agree more.Colin at Shannon Steel Labs is the man. And if you're the kind of guy who geeks out over obscure and very high performance steels, he's definitely the go-to guy.
