Generic knives

Edited. Probably too long an explanation but Rather not start off by leavin my muddy boots on and trackin em all over the house and I dislike
internet jerks. My initial quips were to stop two gentlemqn feom
Quarelling over cost vs “meaningfull” hate watching folks argue...inthink i did the thing where im a dummy and ya’ll dont know me. The smatchet is actually a big deal on more levels than anything other than abthrashed sodbuster from a fella I wish had been my gramps.

My friend-i waited three years for the blade in question and it certainly has an incredibly strong connection to me. Though I make light hearted quips I had family murdered in the Conflict the weapon i mentioned absolutely came with a manual picturing the opposition.

People mention “jewing” me down, happy eastern european me I get “gyped” too.Lets add the polish immagrents too.its been a while sonce dumb polack jokes are in style and the conflict that arose when my irish catholic family came in the mix was absolutely scandelous.

The language I absolutely apologize for. I dont notice it even typing and my 8 yr old daughter corrects me when theres “kids” around and at the table.Im a commercial construction guy and it rubs off and its embarassing.

i just started talking on this forum mostly cause I need a laugh and I was”talkin with the guys” when Im not one of em yet.
Shocked I offended a dozen guys when id rather laugh than cry. In addition to that smatchet Ive got a sidearm stamped by the bad guys and though i dont walk around with a chip on my shoulder I’ll be happy to surrender that browning if its used honorably stopping a hate crime.
That smatchet is made by Dan Peters-he’s a Ranger, a Warrior, and one of the few people I would trust my child with.i dont like nazis fellas. Not one bit and Im not apologetic for that.
Race and Religion cant be left out of what makes this item personal. The brutal manual for use clearly depicts a nazi soldier. My friend taking the time to get the wood from a tree felled at his property in GA stabilised before he left to go to Texas since thats the last any of us will see of “home” matters. The fact that the man walked through fallujah alone for months and would give his life for a country with dying family values, artificial division amongst the citizens and encouraged by our govt and media just to know he didnt fail us matters.

The man making me one of the stubby bushies, each with a little something different for me to give to my buisness partners while I rounded up identical 22/45’s for his sons and one decked out for him for us to barter matters. The very real fear we all had when he deployed again and the purchase(we usually swap stuff but I wanted his wife to have the money)of the second kukri was so i could display them crossed (its his logo) and make sure to remember his family in prayers as Im as bad about please and thank yous to God as I am my profanity laced speech.

Please point out if I missed edits. Sucks I angered anyone-Life is super serious right now and if I had anyone to talk to that I could laugh with instead of cry I wouldnt be goofing off on a forum...and I need a good laugh.generally nazis are safe to pick on and ive never caught heat for jokes about my own heritage-i bet at least one of the dozen upvotes has uttered the phrase I referred to haggling via pm. I get it all the time.

A felt a natural affinity the first time i handle a Joe Calton Hunter, the handle was just plain comfortable and looked so cool too. The blade is an older model from 1095, but it is just so appealing to the eye. Others that gave me a good feeling is the handle work on tow of my knives made by Redsquid her on the forums.

I absolutely love the lines and grinds on that knife. Is that stacked leather? Beautiful knife.

Yup, stacked leather handle and a Vanadis 4E blade. I find it to be a very useable design along with being visually appealing. There were a number of options, blade steel, with or without fuller etc, so there's some room for customization. Plus Petr was great to deal with.

I can totally dig it. That's a design that speaks to me. Well executed stacked leather. Often times I see stacked leather handles without the contouring that I find appealing for my hands, not so with this knife.

I have seen those Soldiers knives being advertised a few times for sale on here. Always thought they have a great aesthetic.

Looks like it would be right at home in a trench during WWI.

I agree. I do get along fine with the usual whiskey barrel shape you see with stacked leather handles, but this feels a lot better in hand to me.

That's part of what appealed to me about the design. To me it's kind of a mixture of classic and modern attributes wrapped up in a package of utility.

While this is quite "classic" in design, the minutious care, finish and overall balance gave me the fuzzies... AKA "isn't this born in my hand ?". "Hunter" by Daado. I love this knife and I wish I could use it not only in the kitchen. But it does great anyway...

I like that. Bet it would make a great camp knife. What are the specs?

Yes, I can definitely see it as a camp knife. Currently, Daado is doing a heavy line. Depending on your needs, this Hunter in heavy version could be even better (less slicey and more choppy...)
Specs of mine are :
Overall length - 11,8"
Blade length - 6,7"
Blade width - 1,38"
Thickness at the back of the spine -9/64"
Tapers to 1/16" at the end of tang

Knife weight is 6,45 oz, and with sheath is 10,65 oz

Handle material: beautiful piece of stabilized walnut root, black G10 liners, carbon fiber pins and lanyard tube.

Handmade, 9/64" thick vegetable leather sheath.
